Garcia had a really hard fight schedule the past couple years, and had a streak of fights where he fought top solid competition and did very well against them. Let him have his one or two quiet tune ups or cherry picks or whatever you call it. It's not like we wont see him in against a top name eventually. If all the top names fight all the top names all the time than boxing would end up as jaded as the UFC with it's champions sporting 30W's - 20L's records. Fkn embarassing. Boxing still has some elitism to it, in UFC there are like 5 fighters who are elite, and the rest just keep losing to each other over and over again. That sht is tired. Structure and balance is needed. Cant fight all bums, but cant always fight the very best option back to back to back to back to back. Too much of anything is not good.
    Terrible horrible post.

These numbers are so inaccurate its funny they decided to pull out an average for the whole fight, meanwhile viewership jumped and dropped hundreds of thousands at a time at any given time. At it's peak this fight still did 97,000 less views than the Herrera bout....even funnier it hit it's peak of 850k only after the fight actually ended and the peak was during the post fight interview. Let's get some numbers on how many had tuned in prior to that news getting out that Salka had been stopped in brutal fashion...

Like I've been saying, the card was billed as a special attraction. The special attraction was Danny Garcia, in an attempt to increase his overall exposure and hopefully give him a highlight reel KO. It worked. People who root for other en****** not associated with Al Haymon or Showtime love to complain at how the sport is dying, yet will tune in to watch similar type mismatches on HBO because it fits their agenda. Why don't you just accept the fact that this is how boxing has always worked, you have more media outlets showing boxing now than in the last 25 years, and fighters like Garcia regardless of who they fight, will have fans tune in to watch.

800k isn't bad at all, and is great for Showtime and boxing in general regardless of who fought.

I didn't wanna ruin the party so I didn't tell him what a mismatch it was. I did tell him that Peterson may fight Garcia next and he said, "why? Garcia would kill him!" I agree but the bottom line is that Saturday night got him hooked again. Team Garcia has a nice strategy going; don't count Garcia out just yet.
U bring up a great point. I think team Garcia has been very smart with Danny. Besides the Herrera match up, his career has been guided along very well. Fans might not like it understandably but that's to be expected.

That's actually not bad, including the circumstances.

All those ppl that said they were not going to watch did watch it silently praying that Danny lost.

His biggest haters are his biggest fans because they watch him and his father more than a regular fan so they can get on his case.

Amazing that that crappy card did so well but I back what radioraheem said
