Many people seem to underestimate Peterson. It's understandable though because most of us in the sport only pay attention to superficial key events, like a knockout happening but no one ever try to pay attention to how it did happen. My point is, Peterson starts slow, meaning that Peterson does not get into rhythm or in the zone until the 5th round.

Peterson in my opinion could had continued in that Matthyse fight. You can see him still in his right state of mind when Smoger stopped it. Peterson have a trend of being knockdown early in his fights, opting to move and box. Then when he warms up he becomes a hard pressed brawler that digs in the body. Kind of reminds me of a refined Emmanuel Burton when he warms up and start going in a cartoonish rhythm landing punches at odd angles.
