  • Comments Thread For: SHO's Espinoza on Hopkins: No Childish Ban Like HBO Did

Stephen Espinoza, head of Showtime Sports, is not taking Bernard Hopkins' decision personally. Espinoza's network was trying to finalize a light heavyweight unification between Hopkins and Adonis Stevenson for a date in October or November - but then Hopkins unexpectedly walked across the street to rival network HBO and finalized a unification against Sergey Kovalev for November.

Espinoza is an unprofessional crybaby. everytime i look at his twitter i cringe. all he does is attack rival companies and slander fighters that dont fight on his network. you'd think he's one of the posters on this site, damage controls his ****ty fights 24/7, brags about purses on showcase fights, and repeatedly brings up the fact they have floyd on there network as if it's some excuse to shovel out horse**** time and time again for there big "stars".

when the low ratings come out, he'll be in full force on twitter talking for some reason about GGG and how hes overrated and how he hates HBO. Notice how nobody from the other side does this. they go about there buisness, they don't need to attack and try to convince there fans they're putting on the better fights.... like this guy does. one of the people ruining boxing is stephen espinoza...

HBO banned Haymon for fights and cards like the one last night. Remember Broner-Rees?

And good thing they did. As a result, they seem focused and clear in their decision to put on the best fights possible

      Crawford-Gamboa, Golovkin-Geale, Kovalev-Hopkins, etc

HBO is embarrasing Showtime right now and the reason why is simple:

Stephen Espinoza. If he does not get fired, expect more of the same type of card like last night

I am not a Showtime subscriber because of Espionza and Ezpinoza only and I am sure a lot of other people are in the same boat.

exactly. Could you even imagine Kery Davis or Ross Greenburg carrying on like a butthurt teenage girl?

Espinoza's actions are not a good look for Showtime........

HBO never banned haymon fighters. they banned GBP and that was because floyd went to Showtime with a good bulk of GBPs talent.

Hershman has made it clear his problem is with Haymon mismatches, not GBP.

I'm not the one who said it, the guy making the decisions at HBO did

I don't know what this guy is complaining about. He has all these fighters with names in a stacked stable which HBO helped built up and all he has to do is make them fight each other. Instead, he chooses to make garbage fights after another. Next month we'll see Haymon fighters not fighting each other again. When is this going to end?

and once again. he did not ban haymon fighters. haymon fighters were still fighting on HBO. GBP fighters werent. They even rejected a Hopkins fight, Hopkins, a fighter than has nothing to do with Haymon.

Yet Hopkins, a GBP fighter, who isn't with Haymon..... is on HBO in his next fight.

And Ezpinoza rejected Hopkins-Kovalev, yet approved Hopkins-Kovalev

Its clearly a Haymon issue........ or is Bernard Hopkins not promoted by GBP for his fight against Kovalev?
