As soon as that KO came, I just switched off the video. That whole situation was heinous and disgusting. I've never been repulsed by the sight of a clean KO before, but that was just... unwatchable when it happened. Genuinely made me sick.
Exactly how I felt. That was cruel and unnecessary.

Garcia did what he had to do in order to cash in his paycheck, so I'm not blaming him for anything that happened in the ring. I'm just saying, when it comes to sickening mismatches like this, it makes me hate the sport I love. A bunch of men in suits (Haymon, Espinoza, GBP) put Salka in there to get slaughtered like a piece of meat for entertainment.
And OK, I'll readily admit to jumping for joy and hooting like a chimp at KOs that happened to fighters I dislike, but they were all during competitive match-ups. What Garcia was (pretty much) ordered to do against Salka was tantamount to a Gladiatorial-era execution. That's what it looked like to me, and it's jaded my enjoyment of this sport.

Let me start this comment by saying I am not a Lucas Matthysse fan. So Garcia fans can throw out any notion of me being a "butthurt Matthysse fan".
With that said lets be honest here Garcia's forward progression to possibly being a star has completely stalled. After Matthysse he was on top of the world. Right now not the same story. Herrera gives Garcia hell and Garcia doesn't give the rematch. Instead he fights a no name lightweight with no power and limited skills. Even a Peterson win isn't that special if he decides to fight him. Peterson is marred by possible PED use and his loss to Matthysse really takes a lot away from a possible win.
Also it is funny seeing some Garcia fans trying to justify this mismatch. The worst has got to be bringing up old time fighters because old time fighters fought some bums. Completely ignoring the fact that old time fighter fought 3 times as much when compared to current fighters.
Salka made $125k for two rounds of work. Good for him. Danny did what he had to do. Lol bs fight, woulda preferred a Herrera rematch but what can I do???? GB, Haymon, DSG took this one. Let's see what happens next.

Lol It would...... Yo, Tell me you ain't laugh when Salka was like come on and then got hit with the left hook??? That **** was funny. I'm with a rematch, bring it on.
Barclays Center, Brooklyn, New York - In a non-title catch-weight fight at 142-pounds, WBA/WBC junior welterweight champion Danny Garcia (29-0, 17KOs) demolished Rod Salka (19-4, 3KOs) in two rounds.
After a commanding start in the first, Garcia started unloading the punches in the second. A barrage of punches sent Salka down in the second minute. Salka made it up at nine and then another barrage of shots forced Salka down to a knee.
Garcia went for the finish and Salka tried to battle back, but he was countered by a massive shot that sent Salka down and out on his back. The fight was quickly waved off as the towel came flying in.

Swift did what we expected him to do.....that was the easiest check he's gotten in years....bring on Lamont so he can get checked and put in his place so he can stop masquerading as the IBF champ....everybody knows that's Swift's belt...I guess fans just wanna see that match up because it's damn sure not a unification fight
Lightning Rod got lit the **** up...dude ate the first hook and thought he was the hulk or something....Swift brutally reminded him that he his name was Rod Salka....it was one of the funniest sequences I've seen in a while
