Wow, I really hate how all these little pop ups are starting to show up on every little underlined word in these pages.
I have to sit there and wait for that damn thing to disappear before I can finish reading and by then I don't even care what I was reading about anymore.
Ugh, but I have to give a lot of respect to Canelo because he's consistently been going after (and fighting!) the best that there is out there and I don't know if we've even quite seen him hit his prime yet..
..'n like Natas said in reference to Golovkin, it wouldn't be too far fetched of an idea to believe that Canelo wouldn't go after GGG at some point in his career.
The kid's got that somethin' I tell ya...
I actually think Cotto will be much more difficult for Canelo than some might expect. He has much more experience, he's been in very tough fights before that I have not seen Canelo in (as in grueling, not getting shutout by Floyd and squeaking by with a questionable win over Lara)....the Angulo fight, he caught Angulo on a bad night.
Kirkland will be a good test for him.
I do not want to see Cotto vs Golovkin. That's a beating Cotto DOES NOT need nor should he take.........let him cash out on Canelo and try to get Floyd to try for the MW title, then split.
After that, Golovkin and Canelo can fight for the vacant title. Golovking will destroy Canelo.
Canelo's problem, IMHO, is that he hasn't really seemed to decide what kind of fighter he wants to be........boxer? inside fighter? brawler? He's got talent but he's also not very good at adjustments. What we saw vs Floyd WAS his game plan. He actually thought he would be able to outbox Floyd.
If he were to fight Cotto, he could learn from watching the style he should try to adopt. A guy with significant boxing ability that can also pressure and brutalize on the inside. He needs to learn to cut the ring and deal with movement.
Cotto has the advantage of already knowing how to do that and I believe that if Trout, Angulo, Mosley, etc. could handle his power, so can Cotto at this stage........
Canelo and Cotto both take a brutal beating from Golovkin. Cotto is not a real MW, Canelo would be interesting vs Jacobs, Quillen, etc.
Cotto should cash out on Canelo and Floyd with some easy touches in between and then call it a career. Nobody really expects him to fight Golovkin. But he can hold on to it until he fights Floyd.........then the title can be vacated leaving Golovkin time to clean out the top tier MW, setting him up for the legit MW title and on the path to the real dream fight of the future, Ward vs Golovkin.......
BTW.......whoever said 155 is JMW is an ABSOLUTE IDIOT. 147.1-154 is JMW, 154.1-160 is MW........not hard to understand
Not hard to figure out. Nobody can legitimately diss Canelo's recent opposition either though. That's crazy. Especially if he fights Kirkland and then Cotto.........Comment

Just because neither are willing to make douchebags of themselves, doesn't mean they can't make money. When the current four PPV stars are gone, if you want to call all of them that (Floyd, Manny, Cotto, Marquez), there will be a draw for fights and I can't think of a better one. Especially should Ward put a beating on Chavez Jr. and GGG puts a beating on Canelo........
Fight sold........could even be in NYC.......Comment

But it will......Dill Doe..........especially if GGG cleans out the MW division over the next 12-24 most and Ward takes out one or two more SMW/LHW over the same period.......

They could do it tomorrow, with no promotion, and do 300K-350K PPVs. Because that's about how many hardcore fight fans buy fight fan fights. And no matter who either beats in the next 12-24 months. They'll still do the same number of buys then because neither has crossover appeal.
Ward is the best. He'll have the mystique of the unbeaten record, nobody's ever really tested him, etc. Floyd has proven that in itself has appeal when added to a big-mouth douchebag personna, which incidentally only worked after verbally undressing Oscar followed by spanking him in the ring.........
It would be pleasant surprise if he created even half of the same following with the US Golden Boy image, humble, not too flashy, etc. Push him as on a mission going to shut down the 'Russian Wrecking Machines' in both Golovkin and Kovalev........(I know, not technically Russian).......but you get the idea.....
If Golovkin continues at this pace, he'll have Tyson appeal and going against Ward would be similar to Trinidad vs Hopkins. Everyone will think GGG will go in and break him down except the hard core fans and those that have started watching Ward, who will then be the most capable fighter available........
They'll do a million if they age it and set it up properly. That's not a failure by any means. A lot will depend on timing and the promotion being set up properly.......but Arum is NOT in the way of that fight.
Golovkin is very capable of crossover stardom. Ward looks as good as ever.......so good he can't get a fight (mostly due to his dispute with his promoters).
But the same guy that directed Floyd early, (Prince), is also directing Ward at the moment. Floyd's personna was created before Haymon..........it just didn't gain traction until after the Oscar fight.
Good for Floyd. Very impressive what he's done.
But don't dismiss real talent because they're too good. There will always be a public demand for good boxing. And should they continue their ascent and eventually become the two best fighters in the world, more than just the Bradley vs Marquez audience will tune in.........I guarantee that.Comment

I had Canelo winning to Trout by 1 point. Close fight, could've gone either way.
Had Canelo loosing to Floyd by at least 10 rounds.
Had Lara winning by 1 point. Close fight, could've gone either way.
"Close fight's doesn't equal robbery"
Wanna know what a real robbery is?
Lara toying and punching Paul Williams like a punching bag all night, he got robbed that night.
Beltran knocking down Burns twice, and dominating him at least 10 rounds and loosing the fight.
That's what a real robbery is, if you don't like Canelo fine, but don't go out there screaming to everyone that because you don't like someone, nobody must like him. that's 100% BIAS talk
I thought he edged out trout, lost to mayweather badly and loss a close fight to Lara. Still him and cotto I think will be an exciting fightComment
