Does the average viewer really think that? I would think maybe alts on NSB but idk about the average viewer. Lol then again you never know with casual fans- the type that post on ESPN boxing section and YouTube...... Suck.

As for Sturm- Germany is his home and he is a star. He came to America once and beat a legend and got robbed blimd. You can't really blame him for going back to Germany after that, especially when he's getting huge pay days and is a star. No doubt he would/could of been a more worldwide star if he fought in America the rest of his career. Same goes for almost everyone (as far as worldwide recognition, not domestic)

I agree, there's an element of that but it's kind of silly on their part.

Golovkin could get more credit beating Miguel Cotto than he would for beating Sakio Bika which would be a much tougher fight.

Same for Froch who would get more credit beating a big name like Chavez than Sakio Bika who has a belt and legit SMW pedigree.

I guess it's an example of how promotion controls the minds of boxing fans.

I think it'd be an exciting match-up, but per usual, so many boxing 'fans' on here would find a way to denigrate it and make is a lose/lose situation for Gennady. If he loses, he was a hypejob (even though he'd be losing to a world class fighter like Mikkel Kessler), and if he wins, he beats a guy who is old and coming off of a long lay-off. The guy's only losses are to future (and current) Hall of Famers for Christ's sake. There's literally no pleasing some of you.

Almost everybody ITT said they would give Golovkin credit even if Kessler is a bit past his prime. some Golovkin fans think Kessler would even win at 168

I think GGG would definitely get credit if he beat him (at 168)

Kessler is a good name, but it will be easy fight for GGG at any weight.
Apart from Ward, there is no one who will be rated as 50/50 fight against GGG.

Ehhh, just a retweet. I think both sides are just drumming up attention with no real talks of it happening.

You're probably right. But it was retweeted a couple of days after the initial tweets so it's still possible.

The question is: if GGG-Kessler happens next, where would it be?
