Canelo o Chavez jr are only twp young guys who right now we do not know their potenitial, if any.

Nothing against Canelo ( I hopre he becomes bigger than what he is now in PPV) But he needs to learn more a lot more, he is not well thought yet on boxing, and if i would compare Canelo to another boxer it would be against Fernando Vargas, Canelo deos not need to be pushed to these fights yet. Start taking the bottom of your division and work your way up to the top man, just like the old days of boxing. Mantequilla Napoles was almost in his 60th fight when he won the welter weight title, and look hje became a legend and the top 3 welter weight in history. Dont rush kid things will fall in it's place when they are done correctly...learn Cenlo Learn!!!

Good Post and I agree with mostly everything you said. I remember watching Vargas's career and he was pushed to fast. It was ulttimately his undoing, and I don't wanna see that happen to Canelo.

Unfortunately in this age if you are not taking top competition constanttly you will be criticized. Canelo's last 3 fights are better than a lot of fighters are willing to do. he wants to prove he won't back down from anyone, which is good for us but he also has to think about his career in which he hasn't even hit his prime yet.

I'm not saying I want him to take the path of least resistance like other fighters have made there careers on (wink wink) but he also doesn't have to go for the home run every single fight.

IMO, Cotto will dominate Canelo in such a fashion that will surprise many. Canelo has shown that he is flat-footed and I believe Cotto will take full advantage of that. Why would Cotto fight Canelo now after that horrible outing he had against Lara? I still think Lara won but regardless of my opinion, I think most can agree Canelo looked pretty bad out there and showed many flaws. Either way, can't wait for it to happen! War Cotto!!!

cotto looked worse against trout. i dont think that at this stage in cottos carreer he can outgun canelo or even keep him off for 12 rds.

If you think you can win a boxing match by landing 107 punches of which 55 of those punches were jabs and then running for your life the entire fight. And if it was Olympic style boxing, then sure, yes you are right. Lara most definitely beat Canelo. LOL

Canelo has flat-feet? Hahaha he just beat 2 of the slickest boxers in his division. These guys would have boxed circles around him and win in unanimous fashion if what you say is true. Listen man, Cotto and Canelo are both my person favorites. I would love to see this fight, but I am not going to bring up lame and untrue statements or be biased towards one fighter when the other fighter has the equal amount of question marks.

            Face facts bro!

Canelo's team changed their minds and are set to fight on December. They're looking to be on par with Cotto as far as time off for a potential May showdown. Also the fight in December would either be in San Antonio or Los Angeles.

Why not, what so special about ginger? he ain't got julian jackson power, he doesn't have benitez defense or any defense for that matter, everything you throw at him he will catch it with his face, he is slow as a turtle in the ring, he has a decent chin that's all ahh and a big promotion company behind him...
