Comments Thread For: Canelo's Manager: Cotto Fight Will Eventually Happen

A fight between boxing superstars Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (44-1-1, 31KOs) and Miguel Cotto (39-4, 32KOs) is bound to happen, according to Canelo's manager/trainer Jose "Chepo" Reynoso. Canelo will return in the month of November, while Cotto is going to see action in December. If all goes well, their mutual promoters have expressed interest in having them face each other on May 2, 2015.

Both Cotto and Canelo will take easy fights to set up the big one for next year.

Of course this will happen. It needs to, but soon. Before Cotto ages any further. Two of my favorites, should be an all out war.

Cotto wants to cash a few more paychecks before Canelo retires him.

I think deep down, Canelo wants to fight Chavez Jr, in the Battle for Mexico.

LMAO @ all the doubters out there. Many said Sergio would wipe the floor with Cotto and some even said he could beat Cotto even if he had a bad night or on one leg. We all saw what happened. These are all opinions however so I respect everyone's insight except those who claimed the aforementioned was going to happen and are still making excuses. So be it. IMO, Cotto will dominate Canelo in such a fashion that will surprise many. Canelo has shown that he is flat-footed and I believe Cotto will take full advantage of that. Why would Cotto fight Canelo now after that horrible outing he had against Lara? I still think Lara won but regardless of my opinion, I think most can agree Canelo looked pretty bad out there and showed many flaws. Either way, can't wait for it to happen! War Cotto!!!
