Two of my favorites going at it. It almost seems like Canelo has an air about him these days, like he's catching a bit of an ego but I guess that's what happens when you become the pride of your country. Will be interesting to see how they negotiate the terms for this fight..

But cotto has to worry about rubio first and canelo is most likely going to fight kirkland next, those are 2 guys you cannot overlook...if they win it will set up a HUGE event. COTTO VS CANELO...

        Fight makes absolute sense.

You got two huge fan bases, Mexico-P.R rivalry, can make the fight on the West or East, I'm not going into catch weights, lineal MW bullshit that us nerds might ***** about, but nobody else really cares.

Fight would make shit ton of money for everybody involved, and would actually might be pretty good.

The thing is almost any legit middleweight is a threat to Cotto, though i believe Cotto can defeat most of the middle weights right now. As well as many of the top Light Middleweights would give Canelo problems. At the end of the day i think they both take winnable fights but still threats none the less, unless they both dig deep in the ranks out of the top 10.

"Eventually" isn't going to cut it ... If they let cotto "marinate" at 160 for long enough he will lose and there goes the payday... I'm sure they can find someone for cotto to beat at 160 his next time out but nothing is guaranteed. As far as Canelo goes there are enough brawlers at 54 with limited movement so he should be able to hang on for a while ... Andrade smokes him , Lara already beat him IMO and Molina would be a problem for him... He needs to fight Kirkland and make the cotto fight happen asap !!!

Either way Canelo doesn't see his 30th birthday as a (relevant) pro boxer...
Cotto will be his biggest (legit) win..

We all saw what happened. These are all opinions however so I respect everyone's insight except those who claimed the aforementioned was going to happen and are still making excuses. So be it. IMO, Cotto will dominate Canelo in such a fashion that will surprise many. Canelo has shown that he is flat-footed and I believe Cotto will take full advantage of that. Why would Cotto fight Canelo now after that horrible outing he had against Lara? I still think Lara won but regardless of my opinion, I think most can agree Canelo looked pretty bad out there and showed many flaws. Either way, can't wait for it to happen! War Cotto!!!
Cotto looked like $h!t against trout and lost no debate their, so what your excuse now? Cotto isn't schooling anybody he doest beat Canelo as easy as you think. Canelo should win this fight by tko or ko

LOL You poor thing. Still clinging on to the Trout fight that happened almost 2 years ago huh? This version of Cotto would murder Trout today. I'll type it again: Canelo is flat-footed and I think Cotto would exploit that. Canelo hasn't KO'd any top contender other than a very limited Alfredo Angulo. Yeah, doubt that will happen but you can dream on. Cotto is not Angulo, he can still move quite well and has better defense than him too. He's also stronger than Lara and Lara hit Canelo at will all night, although Lara is faster. I think Canelo will be there to hit all night but he's durable so I'm going with a late round TKO or UD for Cotto.

Who ever wrote that Canelo is the pride of Mexico must be on drugs.

The pride of my country is Juan Manuel Marquez who koed the pound for pound king into a deep sleep.

Canelo o Chavez jr are only twp young guys who right now we do not know their potenitial, if any.

Nothing against Canelo ( I hopre he becomes bigger than what he is now in PPV) But he needs to learn more a lot more, he is not well thought yet on boxing, and if i would compare Canelo to another boxer it would be against Fernando Vargas, Canelo deos not need to be pushed to these fights yet. Start taking the bottom of your division and work your way up to the top man, just like the old days of boxing. Mantequilla Napoles was almost in his 60th fight when he won the welter weight title, and look hje became a legend and the top 3 welter weight in history. Dont rush kid things will fall in it's place when they are done correctly...learn Cenlo Learn!!!
