Do you really want to be still wondering for the next 4 or 5 months why Thurman "hasn't fought anybody"? It's because of stuff like that. You have to look at what Thurman gains and not just at what the champ gains. Besides, Brook's name wouldn't be any bigger than Thurman's even if he does beat Porter.

Right now, in August 2014 Khan needs Brook a lot more than Brook needs Khan.

If (and that is a big IF) Brook beats Porter, then I think Brook has options that don't necessarily include Khan.

If Brook loses then there will still be interest in the UK for a non-title fight which would be a very decent payday for both fighters.

Khan needs to shut up, fight better opponents and be more active with his schedule.

If he stopped talking all the time he would be forgotten already.
