That is just an incredibly absurd thing to say. Entertainment has everything to do with boxing and all sports. That's how fighters and teams make their money. By entertaining the people who pay to see them. Football (soccer) teams are constantly criticised if they play boring, defensive football. It's a huge and never ending debate in the majority of sports. If you don't think so, you aren't watching anything and are incredibly deluded.
It happens in every single sport on earth. When teams play keeping offs, as such, they will get criticised harshly for it. Boxing isn't a team sport, so they have to do it all themselves and the onus is on no one but themselves and their own performance.
Mayweathers performances have actually gotten significantly less entertaining over the years, while his act outside has gotten more so specifically because boxing is an entertainment sport.
Boxing not about entertainment....

Listen if you don't like it, then don't watch. I don't understand being bored, then going online and crying about it. It's petty. Andre Ward fights the way he was taught, it will never change. It has made him millions of dollars. I don't understand why it makes him a coward thug that will go to hell. That is just an incredibly absurd thing to say. I mean sports like golf, tennis, car racing, cricket, rugby don't entertain me. So I don't watch. I don't go on tennis forums and say Nadal is going to hell because he hits a ball back and forth for 2 hours.
If you like boxing, you watch it to see the best. Andre Ward is the best. So why are you mad? That boring is better than exciting? That is no one's fault. Blame strategy.
Ultimately, I see similarities in Wladimir Klitschko and Andre Ward. Gentlemen, dominant, boring, borderline dirty. But the criticism isn't the same. I could bring up color, but the argument is old and tired. It has been proven true time and time again.Comment

A boxer's relation to his paycheck is one of the most fragile relationships as a professional athlete. Opposed to that you got other football contracts that say "We'll pay you X money to play for us for X seasons". Suddenly that footballer doesn't have to worry about entertaining all he has to do is produce results. It doesn't matter if the footballer is entertaining one game and boring the next game, the footballer gets paid the same for both games. That is just an incredibly absurd thing to say. Unlike a boxer who just has so many uncertainties about his next paycheck. "Will I be televised, where am I going to fight for tax reasons, will more or less people buy tickets, what card am I going to be on, will travel be paid for or do I pay for that, when will I fight, what network will I fight on, what happens if I lose, what happens if I win" etc. It always comes down to money.Comment

Gtfo crybaby. Ward gets a fraction of the abuse Wlad gets. Hardly anyone has a good thing to say about Wlad, even though hes an active champ and most of his fights end with a KO.Listen if you don't like it, then don't watch. You can be entertaining and a draw. But that doesn't make you a good fighter, only winning in the ring can do that.Comment
