All Maidana is doing by coming in lighter is sacrificing power. He didn't hurt Floyd in the 1st fight so that's counter productive imo. Even though Floyd was smaller he looked much bigger than Maidana reach wise so Maidana will really look like a little 140 pounder this go around Floyd may knock him out..

He won't sacrifice power, in fact I think it is a wise move. His punches will come faster and have more sting. And he might be able to land more. I like the idea of coming in lighter and I think it ties in directly and perfectly with his strategy to have more velocity and volume over the course of 12 rounds. The only way it might possibly hurt him is he may not take a shot as good as he did in the first fight but I'm not sure that'll be the case.

His focus should be on throwing a hundred punches a round for 12 rounds..win the fight being busy and not giving his opponent a chance to do much but defend.

maidana hit Floyd with about all hes going to in the first fight I don't see him doing much more this time around. unless he throws 1400 punches and lands 600 or better he wont win

Floyd said something on 24/7 about his breakup stressing him out and how he wants to change his life I wonder if it messed with his training camp. Cuz it's not like Floyd to talk about things getting in his head. Wasn't there rumors of him not wanting to finish his 6 fight contract before the fight too? It just didn't look like his head was in the fight. But who the hell knows could have just been TV hype
