He'd of done the same against Thurman if he could of. Bad stamina, excessive clinching & fouling.

I don't get why he is a fan favourite myself, possibly because he put in a respectable performance against Thurman.
He has power and speed, Rios wasn't hospitalized because of the fouling that's BS but his stamina and inside fighting suck. He fought tomato cans his whole career but the i think he did ok against Thurman and Rios, i want to see him train in the US with a new team.

Well, that's because he didnt cheat his ass off as you think, and the DQ was pure BS. I mean, look at Thurmans fight. A much tougher fight, yet we saw none of the problems we saw against Rios. Robert Garcia knew Rios would get outboxed and his only hope was a dirty fight. I'm ok with a bit of rough tactics, but that was just too much.
Hes getting a contract becuase he boxed the crap out of Rios, its as simple as that folks. Rios is a TMF, but he had nothing left in the final rounds, other than a will to sufer brain damage.

That would be great, the guy is a diamond in the rough IMO. With some better training and conditioning he could be a great fighter.

Lol @ whoever said we would never see Chaves on TV again. I think it was kiaba.

I think TR's plan if Chaves won was to make Chaves vs Abregu.

So, rematch? Might as well, neither guy has anything else to do.

He was probably hospitalized because Chaves decided to be Rey Mysterio in the 9th.

He didn't clinch against Godoy or Thurman, he ktfo'd Godoy and broke Thurman's nose and backed him up before getting hurt late.

He didn't stop Rios but I'm not sure anyone does, plus it was only R.9.

It's clear he didn't want an inside fight against Rios so he clinched, but Floyd did the same against Maidana, Wlad did the same Povetkin, Ward does it every fight, let's not pick on Chaves for doing it in just 1.

Far from being unwatchable he's been very entertaining, I hope to see him fight again soon.

Goddamn that fight was ugly, he was gonna win on the cards until Vic lost his fuccn mind! First time seeing Chaves but if he stays on the outside his style is nice to watch until he ******s you on the inside. More boxers need to know how to box close without excessive holding.

Also Vargas lost to Wale, Nov he's a bum. Don't fight him in Vegas young cats
