he actually does the opposite of that. He doesn't load up on any of his punches and look for one big KO. He just hits so damn hard his opponents can't do anything about it.

he throws fluid combos and never loads up on any single shot
Yeah I seriously don't know how anyone can say Kovalev is only ever looking to land one big shot. He throws combinations. That's what he's most interested in doing.

Ruslan Provodnikov against Algieri after round 1 is a recent fight is a guy looking for one big shot

      definitely not Kovalev.

Kovalevs timing and accuracy is fantastic. He has no need to look for 1 punch. His combos are so crisp and accurate, he makes it look easy

Chaves held after getting cracked his headbutts every time Rios got inside. That's how he got inside to begin with.

I believe that Kovalev is too up right and looks to land the big shot and only the big shot. It's a dangerous fight but I think B Hop wins another amazing fight at nearly 50 years old.
Kovalev actually throws combinations, I think those single shots are designed to create openings but he's so powerful that he drops his opponents with them.

Well that's kind of my point. I was speaking more so in the context of the Bernard fight and how he will approach it. I don't think of Kovalev as a boxer, now that doesn't mean he can't box.

He obviously looks to hurt his opponent, or land the big shot to change what the opponent does. Now, how is that going to affect what he does vs Hopkins and vice versa.

I do see him as being very up right, and leans in and reaches a bit. You see that in most big punchers because they have so much confidence in their power.

We will see, props to Hopkins for taking this fight. Many thought he would never take it and it was Stevenson that decided he wanted no part of Kovalev.
