The fight should happen for no other reason then the fact that every division should have one unified champion.. And last I checked both Manny and Floyd hold belts in the same division. Won't happen in 2015.. possibly 2016.

Why does it need to happen? Honestly. I mean hell it's going on in some people's minds every day and everytime they come on this site. Mofo's have simulated this fight in their minds how many times now? There is more enjoyment in the imagination of it than in it happening. Not because I think anyone guy stands more of a chance of winning than the other...it's just the nature of the sport. In this climate would Floyd fans risk his record to a controversial scorecard? Would Pacquaio's? No, and we all knew coming into this discussion five plus years ago that we wouldn't be satisfied with one fight, regardless of outcomes. So now let's just imagine two fights, we know the numbers alone will demand a second fight...but we'd be talking at the first in 2015 and the second when? 2016? No thank you. May 2015 we see two geezers fight each other, 6 years too late. The fight past its expiration date. Its will be nice if it happens but it proves nothing anymore other then they jsut want to cash in.

Mayweather Pacquaio is old news, no real boxing fans have serious intrest in it other then the novelty.

This fight should have happened in 2009 when Manny was in his prime, but Floyd made it difficult and he continues to make excuses. If he does not fight Manny, he will be ridiculed for ducking. Manny is the second biggest name in the sport and this fight would be the richest in the history of boxing. Floyd tries to make Manny look irrelevant because he had back to back losses, but he will consider Khan who was stopped by Garcia and Peterson and who looked horrible against no name opposition. Manny is a bigger name and better than anyone Mayweather can choose but he makes Manny look irrelevant to avoid the fight. Mayweather will do anything to protect his undefeated record because all of his marketability is tied to it. First the steroids, then the money, and now Bob Arum.
