Both sides fought, dirty, Brandon did what he usually does, Chaves brought him down with him the second time he was tripped, so thats that.
The simple truth is that Chaves was winning and getting better in the final rounds and Rios was losing that fight. Tough fight, but that DQ was pure, 100% BS to save Rios career.

His success at 135, excluding the Abril fight, was because he was so big and powerful down there. Now at 140-147 mostly every top fighter there can take his shots and outbox him. Still has a good chin, but what's a good chin with little boxing technique or a good gameplan?
I never thought Rios was a high level fighter anyway..I did not think he looked finished either last night..The officiating was just very poor last night..The ref was never in control of what was happening and let Chavez hold far to much..Rios imo looked the same as he's always looked..

I agree to that Rios success early was do to his size advantage as well..Since moving up he's looked very ordinary..

Theres only so much beating a head can take before your feeling like a Llama on tranquilisers.

Rios cant cut it at the top level, from now on he will just become a tough journey man before he unfortunately picks up some brain injury due to his non existant defense.

And then you have fights like Alexander vs Maidana, where Devon clinched the entire fight to the point it was just one guy hugging another, and to some thats considered outboxing your opponent.

His career is on the backslide he desperately needs a strong win against a big name i hope he can hold it together outside the ring before that happens

What an ugly fight. Chaves was dirty as hell.
