I disagree, I was rooting for chaves and predicted him to win all things being equal

I had Rios up by 1 point at the time of the DQ

I had the same card as Harold Lederman oddly enough as I never agree with his scores

the rounds I gave Rios were the ones where Chaves repeatedly clinched instead of fought when Rios got close

Chaves isn't as good as I thought he was, and Rios is as limited as I thought

both guys are on the same level

What this fight shows is that despite Rios getting the W, he is done at the top level. Chaves is probably a lower B level boxer, probably a really durable, respectable C+ fighter. Rios struggled bad with him. They should cash Rios out in a big fight with Marquez.

His success at 135, excluding the Abril fight, was because he was so big and powerful down there. Now at 140-147 mostly every top fighter there can take his shots and outbox him. Still has a good chin, but what's a good chin with little boxing technique or a good gameplan?

Thurman is the future if he has a chin. That is all.

RIOS couldn't boxe with CHAVES and he discovered it early in the fight;CHAVES is a much better boxer. RIOS provocated CHAVES to hold because he attacked head down all night!

I agree. This fight pretty much confirmed that Rios is a below to mid level WW at the very best. Unless he can cut back down to 135, I can't see him beating any B level fighter at this weight class. Maybe a fight with Provodnikov would favor him stylistically, but even that would be incredibly difficult for him.
