If Cotto doesn't fight GGG, I suspect he'll take a look at Kirkland but will settle with Rubio if he has a strong co-feature and I think it would be back at the Amway Center in Orlando, FL.
Nah, **** that....not only is it a sure loss, it's also most likely a career ending, life threatening one....it's a forgivable duck imo, much like the biggest b1tch in boxing Floyd jr ducking a midget.....yeah right, you wish floyd f@gs, lol....
From a business standpoint, he should fight Alvarez next, while Golovkin fight fights Quillin next. That makes the most sense because:
1. Cotto vs Alvarez will due huge numbers PPV wise (possible 1 million buys), is a classic PR vs Mexican battle, and is a fight that could be made due to Canelo not being tied to Haymon.
2. Golovkin can take on top guy from NY in that same area and build even more buzz for himself. That way when he and Cotto do face off, it will be an even bigger fight.
FWIW I just can't see team Cotto passing up a fight against Canelo for a fight with Golovkin. Way too much money to pass up and it's a fight I feel that needs to happen.
If cotto want to prove he is the legit middleweight champ then he should fight GGG. If he doesn't fight GGG he should vacate and go back down to 154 for a canelo fight rather than holding the belt hostage. GGG has been the true middleweight king for a couple of years now while the lineal champs ... martinez/cotto keep on running.
