Should Cotto fight GGG next in December??

Post and discuss....Cotto is now the middleweight champion and GGG is #1 contender. both are on the same network, no promotional issues and no other issues...would be a huge unification bout and sell well on ppv

Sure if Cotto wants to gamble with a dangerous opponent for less money that would only gain him more respect with the hardcore fans.
Or he can fight a fighter that he has more of chance against for more money and respect from hardcore and casual fans in Canelo.

why should Canelo get a shot at the lineal championship over the #1 guy at 160?

I wasn't talking about him fighting at 160. Cotto has choices at either weight...he should take the low road for more money and fame. He needs to give up that 160 belt and go where he belongs.

But if he decides to stay at 160 then yes he should fight GGG.

No he shouldn't, but I wish he would. Meaning boxing is not what we would like it to be where the best consistently fight the best. If it were, Sergio would have fought Golovkin and not Cotto a month ago.

Yes. No doubt about it. Top two in the division should be fighting next.

For the good of the sport he should fight GGG next.

I honestly think that Cotto wants no part of GGG.

Now watch all the wannabe promoters come out and say its all about the money but then suddenly its ok to fight Rubio lolz.

Tough to pick yes or no. While I think it would be a great fight, I'd rather see Cotto vs Canelo. The winner facing GGG next fall. That gives GGG time to possibly get a couple more belts and maybe a guy like quillen to fight him. If Canelo wins I'd say he'd definitely fight GGG. Cotto is near the end and I could see a Floyd rematch if he'd beat Canelo in May and he'd be justified in taking the money.
