One of the things I respect most about Hopkins in his entire career is that he hopped on a plane for one purpose, to fly back to Puerto Rico just to apologize to the people there for the flag incident. That impressed the hell out of me. There is no way to fake an apology by taking such an effort , buying a plane ticket, getting on a plane, and flying there with no other business at hand, no ulterior motives whatsoever.

    • Hats off to Bernard Hopkins. He will be 2 months shy of 50 years of age and taking on a live wire like Kovalev...he has some major kahonnies.

exactly how I feel about it. fans more concerned about fighters finances than they're about seeing the best fight the best. such weirdos.

        • What Hopkins is attempting to do is truly remarkable. I don't think this has ever happened before. Can you think of a guy who unified all four belts in a division, then over ten years later unifying all four belts again? In another weight class? Obviously he's only half way there, but.for that to even be a possibility is pretty crazy given he's 49.

No "financial" hang ups , no "he's not a big enough name yet", no cold war, NO PROBLEM.

                  • I have alway picked against Hopkins for whatever reason, now I don't even bother because everytime someone new comes along and he is killing everyone as soon as they face Hopkins that pretty much stops.
