I don't see this being a close fight. One guy will dominate and I'm leaning towards Hopkins.

Verry good fight! Kovalev is propably the hardest opponent that Hopkins could fight right now. I doubt Hopkins will be able to go 12 with Kovalev but Hopkins has suprised the boxing world so manny times already, you should never bet much Money against Hopkins! Kovalev has Jackson in the corner and Jackson knows Hopkins verry well, he fought him and he trained him. So they should know about Hopkins weaknesses and bring the best possible gameplan. And Kovalev is not just a Puncher, hes a huge Puncher with boxing ability. He has flaws in his defense but i doubt Hopkins can hurt him. I say Hopkins gets knocked out for the first time in his Long great career but of course Hopkins could suprise the boxing world again. Kovalev is far better than Shumenov or Cloud, thats for sure.Comment

Your boy took the easy route when he ran over to another network to avoid the possibility of getting knocked the **** out. The coward didn't prosper in this case and now he's a complete laughingstock.
By the way, it's 'lose', not 'loose',

IMO Kovalev is a very overrated boxer when it comes to skills. I don't see him as skillfull as a lots of his likers. Sure, he isn't a brainless brawler a'la Rios or Rosado, that's sure, he's more accurate and cuts the ring better, his combinations are better etc... but otherwise I don't see why is he skillfull. He has got literally just one gameplan and he doesn't change it for other type of opponents. Kovalev himself told before one of his fights, maybe the Agnew fight that he never makes a strategy for an opponent, but he does the same thing every time. And I see that too, he's doing the same thing everytime, and it's work for now. I don't think that he can change his gameplan or make new gameplan for Hopkins, Kovales isn't seem to me as a smart, technical guy who can adapt his gameplan to his opponent. Hopkins on the other hand is a master of tricks, mind games and boxing strategies and he has already a big experience with big punchers. I wasn't here on this site those times but I'm pretty sure that people used to say about Pavlik as well that he is not just a power puncher but he has skills, etc... Most of the people love the knockouts hence when a new knockout beast comes they want to believe that he isn't just a new overrated guy in the row but the real deal and try to figure out that he actually has skills too not just a great punching power and good offense. It's not fanboyism, it's more likely when you want something that isn't true to believe so hard that at the end of the day you convince yourself and you'll actually believe it. But that's just my opinion, no offense to anyone.Verry good fight! Kovalev is propably the hardest opponent that Hopkins could fight right now. I give Hopkins the nod and I'll root for him. I think Hopkins by middle or wide UD, 116-112 or 117-111. We will see, can't wait.Last edited by HEND; 08-02-2014, 07:28 AM.Comment
