Hopkins-Kovalev: Done Deal

I think Oscar might be better off with HBO. SHO, while previously aligned 100 percent with Golden Boy, wants to be aligned with Al Haymon when he makes his power play. This is why I believe they are accepting such egregious mismatches, losing the services of Haymon fighters would be irreparably damaging to SHO. Oscar can find more competitive match-ups for the fighters he does control on HBO, and I am sure the money would be satisfactory as well, given how many subscribers they [HBO] have.Comment

Hopkins is not fighting Kovalev. Eventually.Love it
Kovalev went from "not just a puncher, has skills too" "he's no Pavlik, Tarver, Trinidad, Pascal..complete different beast", "hopkins won't fight him, too dangerous, he knows it".
To: Kovalev worss than Pavlik, Hopkins feasting on hyped up Eurobots with no footwork, no handspeed, no experience against A level fighter, no experince in 10-12 round fights. When will Hopkins fight an actual threat?Comment

Hopkins v Kov has nothing to do with GBP, Oscar, al, hbo, or showtime loyalty. Hopkins already said he has no loyalty to anyone. And showed itI think Oscar might be better off with HBO. SHO, while previously aligned 100 percent with Golden Boy, wants to be aligned with Al Haymon when he makes his power play. This is why I believe they are accepting such egregious mismatches, losing the services of Haymon fighters would be irreparably damaging to SHO. You actually dont even mention any of the fighters.Comment

There's only one that matters and that's Canelo. Canelo vs Cotto in May on HBO...Comment

Not entirely true. Ad it was reported, Hopkins had a long meeting with Oscar and left loyal to to Oscar and believing in his vision. Hopkins said this. There was a big article on this and a Bernard interview. There is probably a little more than meets the eye here. If Showtime offered Hopkins a similar deal for Stevenson, and he still went with Kovalev on HBO, that says something.
Regardless, legacy fight either way. I thought he would have gone after the lineal title first.Comment

Good fight. I like the fact that Stevenson got screwed. But if Hopkins wins against Kovalev it might have not hurt him that much though because he'll get to fight Hopkins anyway. I'm just glad that he wasn't rewarded a fight with Hopkins right off the bat since he ducked Kovalev.Comment

Na, that's what should have happened to Marquez in Pac-Marquez 4.
What is that supposed to mean? Sure I don't have brown hair like GGG and Kovalev, but I am whiter than them in skin tone. So I don't know what you are talking about.
F-ck that ****, no one wanted to join me. It was an offer. If people wanna hate, i'll play along.Because Kev has apparently decided to burn his "I won't hate on any fighter this year" vow with a nuclear bomb. He's gone insane since the Golovkin fight hating Golovkin and now Kovalev.Comment
