a dude with fast feet who is strong enough to keep his hands free from a clinch.

oh, and two leaping left hooks. floyd patterson JR, minus the chinnyness and being undersized.

    future legend.

Porter makes a lot of mistakes but he does a lot of things well, punches hard, fast hands, good at cutting distance, good at stopping guys from spoiling etc

Now what does Brook do well?

I don't think his feet are that fast, Paulie & Devon allowed him to close the gap without giving him anything to worry about. They didn't throw anything just either leaned back or pulled back. They didn't even try to counter. All Paulie did was hold and try get his right hand in.

He does most things well for me. Very good jab though he often brings it back a bit low for my liking. Switches stances well. Very good at taking half-step back and making a guy pay, in particular lungers and guys who like to reach. He works well behind his jab and had solid footwork, good balance, decent speed, good power, good combination puncher when he lets his hands go.

Not great inside and seems to switch off from time to time but hes a solid technical fighter.

Only good thing I see that's better than decent is he seems to have quite good power.
        I disagree completely.

In fact, I would say those would be his strong points.

He has a much better jab than Porter, that's 1 thing. He has good footwork, measures distance well, has good reflexes, throws most punches in the book - He has knockouts by jabs, straight right hands, either hook and uppercuts - just from his last couple of fights.

He worked on his stamina after the Jones 1 fight, but I agree there are questions around that as it's often something you have or you don't.

He's fought on the inside well on a couple of occasions, but against lower level opposition so it's hard to judge.

And of course, he's a precise puncher with a high connect %. Keeps his guard up well etc.

As I said, he does most things well. But I don't see anything spectacular or awesome about him. Not even his power, though it is decent.

But I'm rooting for him as I'm 100% convinced Porter is juicing.

Just not in the mood for your ridiculous bullshyt right now.

But please tell me again how Shannon Briggs was the main man at heavyweight in '97.

I can't help but recall how Porter ran out of ideas against Julio Diaz was getting countered then was getting walked down and straight up bullied.

He is still the same fighter just fought two fighters that have hugely flattered him. Despite winning impressively you could write an entire book on the flaws and mistakes he made. He is very raw and I can't help but feel he is stuck in an identity crisis. Hes now tried to clone Mike Tyson it is going to be very interesting to see his approach once Brook starts ramming that ramrod jab in his face. I predict he will get desperate and start lunging and loading up and getting hit by clean counters then we'll see him on his bike and getting walked down.

He is still the same guy who was getting outboxed by Alfonso Gomez

Don't forget those fights and think he fights down to his oppositions level, Paulie & Devon flattered him.

Diaz & Gomez are naturally bigger and quite strong. Paulie & Devon could easily still make 140 and are very weak guys physically. Brook is far bigger, he is a huge welter, very accurate with decent power.

                    Brook gassed, Porter was outclassed.
He was young and cut corners hes now got a nutrionist and will be in the best shape hes ever been in for this. It was a blessing in disguise!

Far easier to cut a few bad habits and improve your stamina than it is to correct a lot of bad flaws drilled in from your amateur days.

Those flaws still remain its just Devon and Porter was incapable of taking advantage of them against someone far bigger and stronger. Neither guy had the power to command any real respect, he had no fear of being caught coming in or getting countered.

Brook will fully exploit his flaws.

I never once said that or even mentioned his name. You had a monologue going on, as you often do. Dont you remember, you were rambling on about how the lineal championship isnt all-important and how Golovkin is the "true" champ because he beat Geale? Guess that all got a bit confusing for you..
