Some styles are more offensive styles, some more defensive. Roach teaches more offensive. Roger and Floyd sr are more defensive, and they suffered their own KO's in their fighting careers. Now Roger himself was more of an offensive fighter, but he could still teach Floyd defense.

When a trainer gets a fighter, they always see what type of natural foundation a fighter has. Every fighter has a preference of styles that come natural to them. A trainer is there to enhance that style and also work on weak areas to help "round" them.

For manny's style, he has done pretty well under roach. Roach got his feet working and that alone = defense.

Some fighters are so offensive minded, that even if they have defensive training, they forget once the bell rings. Some fighters are so defensive minded, they forget about offense. That is usually not the trainers fault as some natural instincts cannot be broken.

Morales hurt Pacquiao bad. I don't know what you're talking about.
recent pac has better def than 2003-2006 pac.

      understand?

morales hurt pac but not seriously enough to get a ko/tko.

      understand?

lol **** you. You're right though I'm rewatching Pacquiao vs Marquez IV right now and Pacquiao's defense was exceptional.

You need to rewatch the fight. These guys were going at it hard to the very end. Both guys weren't seriously hurt. They were more fatigued, then hurt. They were just doing their warrior thing.

Definition of being seriously hurt: ...being knocked down, legs buckling after eating some shots...getting dazed... Didn't see that from both fighters.

Of curse he teaches defense. Where did you get the ****** idea that he doesn't????? His fighters have a great overall record. Why do you think he has won more awards than any other trainer and great fighters like Cotto want to be trained by him?

Haven't seen PAC/Morales in a while but I don't recall Pacquiao's legs buckling or being put on the canvas as he was against Marquez. Sure he damaged Pacquiao but he was never on the verge of being stopped or knocked down.

but morales 1 win over pac was clearer.

aside from the ko, jmm-pac fights were debatable.

morales-pac 1 was close but clear morales win.

Roach teaches ducking, and footwork to get out. He also teaches a jab with a high guard after.

Whether people learn to use it or not is another question.

LOL at using Brother ****m for defensive training. Hopkins was always defensively savvy. Look at how easy Mosely is to hit.

What you teach don't always work. The Mayweather's have trained some absolutely easy guys to hit.

Mickey Bey would have beat John Molina if he used defence.
