I get your point and its fair. the winner of quillin/GGG would be the best MW because the lineal title is being fought amongst non MW's.

Thats why I agree with Natas point its not very fair to any true MW.
Mayweather would be the lineal champion, i'm asking whether you would claim Mayweather was the best in the division, that despite the fact that Mayweather is a welterweight that he is better than Golovkin at 160?

This story does highlight to me that lineage can fail to produce the 'right' man just as the various sanctioning bodies can.

Asian is a race but you said Korean. People looking at GGG, would they assume he is anything other than white? What I am trying to to get at is that the excuses have become ridiculous. People are moving the goal post rather than just accept the dude is not a star yet.

      • Plain and simple he needs to fight and beat up one of those brits, i.e. Froch and then take a chance that he can fight Ward in his first fight back and hope he gets lucky and catch him rusty, then he will bet some fans. Cause if he cant get free HBO fans no way he can get the PPV type, he's gonna have to fight someone. And if people really considered him white, he's be up for President by now with that record. Think about it, if there was a white boxing champion ratings would not be his problem, you know im right, he'd at least be on a subway commercial lol. People think he's a gimmick, maybe if his team didnt admit as much, that they were giving him bums to pad his record and make him a star. But to be fair, nsb hypes guys way to early. Whoever has a KO on HBO/SHOWTIME is the next great whatever. He has a weak division and now people are gonna make his team pay for that A side/ B side crap they was talking

        • The adjustments that'll probably be made: 3G goes back to fighting in the MSG theater, and goes back to making less money. Hopefully HBO doesn't start becoming extra choosy and 3G starts fighting only twice a year. Regardless of the ratings, few fighters bring the pain like 3G does.

Ratings or lack of ratings is the main reason he does not want to fight Ward..... your contradicting yourself.

OK. my bad. No, I wouldn't say Floyd was the best MW in the world in this situation.

theres a lot of fighters that are not americans and is pulling in way better numbers. the problem with GGG is his management. i mean GGG is an exiciting fighter to watch but does everyone knows this? i dont think so..

He doesn't want to fight Ward because he wants Cotto. You know, the lineal champ of his own division

Why should he move up to fight the best fighter at 168 when he can become the official man of his own division.

IF he moves up.... It woul be ****** to fight Ward first. Fighting Froch or Chavez Jr to get accustomed to the new weight class would come first before fighting the #1 guy

If you don't understand this, you just want him to lose.

Furthermore, Ward is the one with no promoter or opponents. He actually cleaned out his division unlike GGG. Why doesn't he move up to fight Kovalev and become a champ in a second division?

Lineal champ.... here we go again.. Cotto isn't the best guy at 160... cant we all agree on that.. before Martinez nobody would ever entertain cotto fighting GGG at 60.
