Does it upset Floyd haters knowing that Ali was just as hated as he was at the time?

They seem to love it.
If only it was a motorcycle, the jack@ss fell off a scooter. And as if there weren't enough reasons to dislike him, Floyd has bieber in his corner. The three of them can go **** themselves and each other.

Retired, taken an extended leave-whatever-the point is,if you can afford to take a 2 year holiday away from work (which doesn't involve grueling training camps, sparring, etc-not to mention the business aspect of the sport) then you cannot say you wouldn't want to.

Would I prefer to watch him against Margarito, Cotto, Williams-yes-but look at the other fights the guy gave the boxing world-there is only a very select handful of fighters who have fought everyone when it didn't make the most business sense.

In the end, Floyd fought Cotto while he was still decent and just beat Canelo. He had a tough fight with Maidana and gave the guy a rematch-it's not like he is fighting some guys who haven't earned it in some way or another.

All in all, with a resume that has Hernandez, Corrales, Oscar, Mosely, Cotto, Maidana, Guerrero, Canelo, Hatton, Castillo, etc-that's not that bad of a career-maybe not the best in history, but not too shabby. Perhaps the armchair critics here have done more to earn their place of being overly critical?

Now that I have posted about Floyd, what I liked about Ali was not only did he face some of the biggest punchers and great names-he also continued his career fighting guys making names for themselves-he put himself at a disadvantage while his speed and ability had eroded to the point of no return.
Ali was more than a champ in the ring-his life was a great story to the world.

Though Ali was judged incorrectly through the flaws of our society, Mayweather has been judged because of his deliberate and unheroic crimes-big difference.

I think when Floyd is done with boxing,in several years he will be noted for his talent and solid resume. His career hasn't been half as bad as some of the people here make it out to be...it's been pretty great actually.

Ali was the most beloved figure in sports during the 1970s. The hate shown towards him was largely due to his refusal to be drafted in the United States army, even for exhibition bouts, which was all that was required of him at the time. He did not want to represent an organisation which he believed was killing innocent people, race being a major factor in the war.

Ali was never hated for his boxing or accomplishments and he was very rarely hated as a person, simply because he was such a warm individual. Yes, his in ring persona was that of a braggart but he was far more than that outside of the ring, he didn't try and be a thug, he didn't flaunt his wealth in front of every and anyone and he was always welcoming to his fans, even as an older man with PD, he would stand for God knows how long, just signing autographs. That was the measure of the man, Floyd Mayweather, for all his braggadocio, does not even come close.

The list of fighters he ducked completely or in their prime is more impressive than one you made.

Not just that, but he was willing to lose to prove he was the best. He lost fraizer 1 clearly.
Floyd cant lose to pac GGG or at the time martinez. He avoids super fights . Ali made them and lost his first. And beat foreman as an underdog . Rematched his first super figh.

Glad to see you honed in on a very small section of what I wrote. His career isn't bad at all-you make it sound as if it is....keep it level.

The ONLY reason Ali was hated on was because he refused to go fight in the Vietnam war.

Ali was not hated for being a ducking, cherry picking, coward that makes up his own rules like Mayweather. Op please do yourself and everyone else on this forum a favor and slap yourself.

Oh and by the way, there's no doubt that Ali was a great fighter but the fact that he self proclaimed to be the greatest ever does not make it so.
