  • Comments Thread For: Hearn on HBO using Froch quote, Chavez Jr talks restart

With the Gennady Golovkin express nearing full steam ahead the question is who will step up and fight the destructive Kazakh now?

On Sat night at Madison Square Garden win number 30 for the WBA world middleweight champion came after his disposing of former IBF/WBA title holder, Daniel Geale inside three rounds. With HBO fully behind their ever growing superstar the network plucked out a recent Carl Froch quote during their broadcast which, on paper, reads as though the WBA/IBF super middleweight champion doesn’t want any part of GGG should he step up in weight.

During the build-up to Carl Froch-George Groves 2, both fighters took to Facebook along with Sky Sports presenter Adam Smith to participate in a fans Q&A with one of the questions being:

Don't think anyone can ever accuse Froch of ducking. His resume says it all.

The quote was taken out of context I believe.

Regarding Chavez jr, Degale, and Kessler, I'd like to see Froch vs Chavez the most.

Froch isnt a PPV fighter in america. He should fight ggg on regular HBO and ppv in Britain. Theres no excuses about froch made a fortune vs groves but he aint gonna make that kind of money again. No matter who he fights. To b a American ppv star u need to base yourself there and build a fanbase. You can't cross the pond and say im a ppv fighter.

Froch can say what he wants. The man quack dont gonin the same sentence all he has done is what we wanted all other fighters to do. Fight big fights and no tune ups.

He would fihht GGG im a fan of both, but kmo its a 50 50 fight.

No but Chavez Jr is. Therefore it would be a duel PPV on both sides of the Atlantic.

          Not hard to understand.

Froch goes on how he makes 68 so easy so he cant duck the light heavys. So instead why dont he go down to 60 and fight and bcome two weight champ. Hearn and froch this they are floyd mayweather or suttin they have to much demands

I'd be just ever so slightly pïssed off if it's Kessler III.

I honestly think Froch v Golovkin could be made if Hearn wanted it enough. GGG is crying out for a huge fight, literally on national TV in his post fight interview. Although he is a hit in broadcast ratings, he's struggling to sell out venues. So having this fight in the UK where Froch can sell out football stadiums makes the most sense, it'd still generate a huge amount for both fighters, and it's an absolutely belting fight, it should be made.

                  What?

Froch is a career 168lb fighter who just turned 37, you want him to move down? Honestly...

He makes 168 easily because he is in great shape all year and never goes above 175 between fights. Look at a Froch weigh in, how do you take another 8lbs off? Quite simply, it's not possible.
