Na I would be proud that he took on the challenge, if he did manage to accept a unification. Win or lose, as I have said before, I think Cotto would give GGG his toughest fight to date.

Golovkin is making a name for himself. He just did well filling seats in his debut in MSG. Cotto is huge there. What fight is bigger @ SMW (or MW for that matter) than that for him?
Not sure he sold that well, it helped Jennings was there to back the card. Alot of people from Philly came out in support of Jennings. Also it didn't look as if the cheap seats were open at MSG. Looks more like they sold lower bowl and club seats. It did not look sold out to me.

But he is making a name for his self. He just needs one great name to get things flowing.

I agree with Sanchez, and I would even go further. I don't believe you should be able to win a belt at a catchweight. However, his point (and my own) have no significance because belts have no significance. There are too damn many belts and divisions. If Welterweight was 140-149, and Middleweight was 150-159, etc. I think boxing would be a lot better, especially if you cap the rehydration limits. There are too many fighters starving to weigh-in, and then blow up 15-20 lbs over night, just because they're scared to test the power with guys their own size. That has to stop too!.

I totally agree. Perhaps GGG is pricing himself out of these so called named fighters. IMO I dont think GGG has enough on his resume to say what he desire. GGG looks amazing with these KO's, but he's not on Ward's level. Abel knows it and so does GGG... The bigger names are at 68. Bigger name comes with bigger payday. GGG is 32 yrs old and is not getting younger

That conversation concerned Golovkin vs Ward as not being financially viable. Cotto vs Golovkin is very lucrative. Are you talking about Cotto's marketability tanking after fighting GGG? If so, I agree.

That's not how the business of boxing works. Both are title holders and a unification is a natural step in the right direction. And as long as GGG is not some 20-1 underdog and clearly he is not, and he is perceived as a huge threat, GG does not have to fight anyone else to "qualify". Both bring a lot to the matchup. And Canelo has clearly indicated he is not moving up soon and unless it's Floyd vs Cotto, GGG is a solid option.
