Unless of course cotto gets an ungodly sum to fight ggg in msg this year- like $12-15 mil.
Floyd is likely kicking himself in the ass for not fighting Martinez for the middleweight strap. But I think he'll be very interested in rematching Cotto for it. But it would be either May or Sept 2015. Because he'll be able to retire and not fool with what will then be a huge demand for a GGG showdown. And I think a Canelo fight is likely in the works for later this year or next summer. So it will probably be late 15 or even 2016 before a GGG fight is even entertained.

I'm not looking forward to the match-up in terms of entertainment, but it needs to happen. Best case scenario: 3G/Soliman is set up for October on HBO, and 3G wrecks him quick. Then, his team reach out to Team Quillin to see if he's interested in making it happen. If they can't come to an agreement, re-sign to HBO and fight someone like Mora/Lemiuex in January 2015. The best route for 3G is to be more active than anyone else.

What did happen with the Chavez fight? Weight issues?

This is the only route Gennady can go at 160. If he has the belts, he'll keep them, as the mandatories will only pull out. Same with Rigo. When he has enough of them, the money comes in, and people in the division will actually need to fight him to become 'champion'

                google "chavez golovkin"

A showdown between super middleweight contender Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and middleweight titleholder Gennady Golovkin is all but dead, the promoters for each fighter told ESPN.com.

Arum was trying to withhold the big payday from Chavez unless he signed an extension. Chavez could have fought Golovkin without the extension, but for much less money.

horrible fighter. PED cheat to boot.

Are you really that dumb? He just fought a former, major belt holder, one fight removed from his belt by split decision and destroyed him. What are you *****ing about boy?
