I am not a Rios fan, I disliked him since he made fun Roach's Parkinson, but I think any non-biased fan can see that Chavez was in the wrong here. While both were dirty, Chavez kept clinching and grinding his head against Rios(did anybody see that he held his head very high every time they clinched, to give the impression of a headbutt), and then whine like he wasn't the one who initiated the clinches. The tackle was also a pretty blatant foul. Ref was terrible though and wasn't able to manage the fight effectively.

I was thinking the exact same way but what can you do... Corruption in boxing will always persist, better it be the referee than the judges to have made Chaves fight a great fight only to be robbed in the end.

Probably. Drac took points from Chaves very early about holding, that didn't seem like an accident.

Some of these refs are just weak too, you could hear Robert Garcia pressuring the ref throughout the fight and that also had some influence imo.
