Wow people are so quick to write off Cotto, I'm not going to and I'll tell you why.

Even though Geale, Macklin, etc are good wins and Geale was a former champ, I would still consider them B-level fighters. Its true Cotto is not a true middleweight but he is a Hof'er with A-level ability, and in that way he is a much greater challenge than these solid, natural, but unspectacular middleweights.

Is there a possibility that Cotto gets taken out like the others? Yeah its possible, as he is a naturally smaller fighter and he can be hit and hurt, but its a lot less likely than the guys above. He is better in every single department than the guys above, the only thing they have over him is natural size.

I do make Golovkin a solid favorite, I think a lot depends on if Cotto can hit and hurt him early, not necessarily wobble him, but force him to be cautious, even in this scenario I can see Golovkin winning, by reverting to a more technical approach, which I believe is underrated about him. He may have to use his brain, avoid incoming fire for the first time and grind Cotto down. But Cotto is an underrated boxer and has good movement, jabs well, counters well.

Like I said it is possible that Cotto gets caught, but I highly doubt it, and I am surprised so many people are getting this carried away, it is always the same with punchers on NSB, you guys will never learn. I believe this fight will be tough, and a fight where both guys will have to make adjustments. But I actually think its Golovkin who has to prove things in this fight, not Cotto.

Remember Golovkin said Canelo is by far the best fighter he has been in the ring with, describing him as very fast and strong, and whilst I don't hold too much water to sparring, I don't think there is much between Cotto and Canelo.

Cotto does not have a prayer against Triple G. He beat a handicapped senior citizen for his last fight for f**ksakes. If this fight goes down, Cotto will be Martinez against GGG.

Everything would point to late GGG stoppage, but I doubt Cotto would be done in under 3 rounds. Cmon show the guy respect, he has lasted long in many fights where he was taking punishment.

Golovkin would tear Cotto or anybody else at 160 apart. There's no suspense to that. I would like to see him move up for Froch or Ward.

Prior to his demolition job of one-legged Martinez, his last "great victory" was against a one-eyed cheat!

I agree with this post, Cotto has been in wars and has been at the highest level for years, people need to give him respect, Golovkin stops him in 10. No way earlier, no way.
