I first noticed them in the Stevens fight. The gloves worn by GGG seemed to be smaller than the ones worn by welterweights and seemed to have a lot less padding than the gloves worn by Geale. If they do have less padding, as I suspect, that gives him an unfair advantage the say way that Maidana had an unfair advantage wearing gloves with little to no padding.
What's this more crying about the gloves?? The gloves used by all pro boxers are approved by the boxing commission they are fighting in! Just because Floyd has a hissy fit about Maidana's gloves don't think that is whining is justified. Only Floyd can get away with such pre-fight stipulations because of his status and pocket book. It has nothing to do with what is fair and legal in a pro boxing fight.
There are different kinds of gloves depending on the preference of the fighter. The gloves are made by reputable boxing companies such as Everlast. There's no reason for them to pull anything illegal. They've been involved in boxing equipment for ages. Furthermore, the other fighter has his choice of what gloves to use so there is NO unfair advantage. Get real and give me a break. Floyd would agree to the gloves Maidana uses if he had elite level power and thought he could knock out a top level fighter. He obviously doesn't have that power based on his own omission that he doesn't want Maidana to do any damage to his face. He knows that wearing gloves with extra padding will give HIM an advantage because he is not a puncher like Maidana and wins by decision with his speed and reflexes so there is no need for gloves that would enhance his punching power. This seems pretty obvious to anyone with half a brain but it seems like Money has a good part of the boxing world brainwashed. Boxing is so corrupt nowadays that it makes some fans think that the wealthiest boxers can make up their own rules and that's perfectly fine. Floyd Mayweather DOES NOT make the rules for pro boxing, pro boxing does and the same goes for Golovkin. If these magic gloves made him so powerful, every other boxer would be doing the same thing.

But foh here w/ this easy to read star-making effort. f...o...h. Would love to see this dude in a real scrap w/ somebody w/ some heart & some skill & some grit. Watching this guy is boring. For me at least.
Ok, so who do you think is a legitimate star in boxing? The p4p #1? Is he exciting? Has he not cherry picked his opponents? You have to give examples of other boxers who are true stars and deserve the accolades they get, not just talk **** about someone who has destroyed every opponent he has faced, competitive or not.

      • I think there is something up with GGG...either the gloves or something else. Dude is demolishing people and they all say he punches like a mule kicks. Something is fishy....never hear his name associated with drug testing of any kind either.

Goddamn how underhanded. Weren't you a fan of cyclist turned boxer Martinez who experienced a late career power surge, just as Spanish trainers were getting busted for providing PEDs to athletes including boxers

Sergio hasn't had a KO in about 3 years. Sergio also didn't walk through punches like a tank and spar LHW's like some other people.

But he had a nice sudden KO streak just as he was peaking p4p, before his body started breaking down suddenly.

Last time I checked, boxing involved two opponents punching each other. The idea is to get hit more than you get hit, or in GGG's case, land the cleaner, more effective punches. I don't think the shots that Geale got in had any effect on him.
Furthermore, being hit back and succeeding is what being a true champion is all about. I would say, as a fan of GGG, that he would need to take some cleaner shots from stiffer competition to become a true world champion who has persevered after being tested but he's certainly on his way. Lots of prospects go through their career not getting touched until they face someone tough and wind up getting destroyed.
