Cotto can make 160 lbs though, it's a big difference from a guy who literally cannot make 154 lbs and has never officially made 154 lbs. These are facts.

Cotto had the balls after 2 or 3 surgeries and he (Martinez) looked like **** in his previuos 2 fights, not to mention the layoff...not exactly a big risk. He could've fought Martinez when he fought Yuri and Trout. Now if Cotto fights Canelo, that'll be saying something. Floyd fighting Cotto @ 154 and Canelo @ 152, took some balls, and he won both fights easily...that's saying something.

Manny is a great fighter, and has plenty of heart, but he's not as skilled, and versatile as Lara, which is why Marquez always gives Manny problems. You already have Manny fans saying Algeri will give Manny problems, so if Algeri would give Manny problems, Floyd would give Manny nightmares. Lara's size, skill, and straight left hand would definitely win 5 rounds easily against an older Floyd. Rounds 10-12 would probably decide the fight.
Nah roger is offensive and sr is defensive coash. Hell floyd ran back to his daddy after the cotto fight. Also I agree that lara would have given foyd a heak of a boxing fight. Shoulder rolls don't work on straight lefts

It took balls for the 154 lb champ to fight two guys that are in the same division?

not exactly a big risk but floyd still didnt fight him so u cant say floyd would have beat him that was the point everyone is trying to make. dont talk about something if u aint about it.

Mayweather Sr. talking some truth. You could argue Cotto had the balls to take the fight with Martinez this and that but the fight itself he won it by default. Everyone but Cotto fans saw a one-legged Maravilla in there.

Mayweather sr along with many others have diminished Martinez after the Cotto loss. He says Floyd jr could have beaten Martinez easlily. I agree but he needs to stop acting like they were so confident Floyd could beat Sergio all along. Cotto exposed Martinez's injuries. Before the Cotto loss, Sr was saying Sergio was too big for lil Floyd to fight..now after the fact he so confident Jr would have beat him easily lol. BOTTOM LINE: IF THERE WAS AN OPPORTUNITY TO CAPTURE THE MIDDLE CHAMPIONSHIP OF THE WORLD, WHY DID'NT HE DO IT? Injured Martinez or not, Cotto at least had the balls to step up and challenge himself.

Floyd was the 147lb. champ when he fought Cotto @ 154. And yes it took balls to fight Canewlo because he knew Canelo would be 165-170 in the ring, and he would only be 150-152. Fighting someone 15 lbs. heavier (especially in the top levels) takes balls.

You're correct that you can't assume Floyd would beat Martinez just because Cotto did, and Floyd easily beat Cotto. But you also can't deny that Cotto beat a one-legged version of Martinez who would've looked badly against anyone. Peter Quillen and Chavez Jr. would've beaten that version of Martinez too.

This is what it is right here. Cotto stepped up and got it done. Floyd is content in his own bubble, and fans love it, but Cotto made some history, and his fans should be proud of him. Can't take that away from him.
