Why has it gotta be all the way in 2015? Floyd didn't waste any time fighting him when he was the most demanded opponent for Floyd to face. They both try to get stuff to their advantage. And neither one is better than the other where that's concerned.
Cotto wasn't "almost knocked out". That had more to do with him being tired but he was nowhere close to being "knocked out".

He only rematched somebody once over a "sketchy" decision. That surely isn't why the rematch with Maidana is happening.

Floyd would have been the favorite versus anyone at 154 lbs or less. The only fighter he may or may not have been favored against in the past is Manny Pacquaio.

But he doesn't have the ballz to fight Manny. And when these guys realize Floyd doesn't hot any harder than Rod Salka or Paulie Mags, then they bull rush in and turn the fight into a street fight because they know Floyd can't hurt them. Can you imagine the onslaught Pacquiao would put on Floyd when he realizes he has no punching power. That's why Floyd has to jab, counter and run. Ortiz, Cotto, Canelo, Guerrero, Maidana weren't afraid in the least bit of Floyd; No power to hurt them. They just couldn't catch up with Floyd pot shotting from the outside. Even a 42 year old Shane Mosley nearly had Floyd knocked out in 2, but didn't have enough in the tank to finish him.
