Sr. is a trip! He takes so much credit for Floyd's career, but I think Roger had A LOT TO DO WITH THAT. Then he doesn't want to give anyone else any credit. If he was so good, why has he not been able to reproduce a fighter similar to Floyd. He'll get his chance with Gamboa. Let's see how that works out.

That being said, Freddie is getting a lot of credit for Cotto beating a broken Martinez. That knee was garbage after the first round, and Martinez without the ability to dance, is not the Martinez we all knew. In fact, if the Murray fight was not in Argentina, I think it's a draw. Martinez was damaged goods. Cotto should go for the Canelo fight this year (and Canelo should do the same). I think Cotto would be at risk of losing all the money he could make with Canelo or a Floyd rematch if he chooses to fight a top MW, and the same goes for Canelo if he chooses to fight Kirkland.

"Floyd could have took the fight and been Middleweight Champion"

        BUT...

He didn't...because he didn't want to find out what version of Martinez was going to be in the ring.

Cotto on the other hand, perhaps they had a feeling something was up with Sergio's health...but they still had the balls to find out.

same can be said about roger. if he's so good why hasnt he produce any other fighters like floyd? to be honest, i dont think floyd needs sr. or roger. they dont tell him anything in the corner but keep jabbing that mutha ****er, keep doing what u doing. roach did get too much credit for cotto beating martinez but roach actually did improve his fighters whether u want to admit it or not.

Since then he has lost two, one by dubious decision, avenged. However nonetheless it still affects his marketability and pay per view sales. Hagler lost one or two before SRL but was on a titanic run before that, same hasn't been exactly the same for Manny. Most will also remember that Henry Bruseles was served up to Floyd to test him from Puerto Rico for a Prime Cotto and Floyd beat him.
I think Canelo has saved Floyd's "0." I think Lara would probably be the biggest test of Floyd's career. I still think he's the only fighter who could match Floyd's boxing ability. Manny is a great fighter, and has plenty of heart, but he's not as skilled, and versatile as Lara, which is why Marquez always gives Manny problems. You already have Manny fans saying Algeri will give Manny problems, so if Algeri would give Manny problems, Floyd would give Manny nightmares. Lara's size, skill, and straight left hand would definitely win 5 rounds easily against an older Floyd. Rounds 10-12 would probably decide the fight.

Roach definitely improved Manny, that's without a doubt. Jury is still out with Cotto. Hopefully we'll see against Canelo real soon. You're right about Roger, he hasn't done anything with anyone else. I think that the fact that Mayweather was trained as a boxer, by 2 professional boxers (good ones too), since he could walk, is why he is what he is.

Thats funny. Cotto has better footwork and headmovement than canelo. I dont remember canelo winning any gold medals at the world olympics.

Yea and what happened? Floyd retired. Bruseles is garbage. Cotto was the number 2 welterweight right behind floyd. What does he do? Gets a fight instead with a 140 lbs champ ricky hatton at 147 lbs. Why not fight the number 2 guy cotto at 147 lbs where cotto has the other belts? Fraudweather ducked him hard and theres no denying it.
