There is certainly going to be a problem after November 21st. It appears, based on the recent comments by Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, that he doesn't plan to compete in the middleweight division and intends to move back to junior middleweight following the scheduled contest with WBC champion Miguel Cotto. The winner of Cotto-Canelo has been ordered to face WBA/IBO/IBF middleweight champion Gennady "GGG" Golovkin (34-0, 31KOs) next. Golovkin, who holds the WBC's interim title, is the mandatory challenger to the full belt.

In fact Saul is being generous by giving him 1 free pound
I see what you did here grandpabernard.

He'll probably take whatever he can negotiate. The only difference is that because he's a mandatory and WBC confirmed Cotto/Canelo will be stripped, he has some bargaining power now. His camp should be able to negotiate something like 157.

Canelo is still a wuss for asking for this though.

This would be for three of the middleweight titles and the lineal crown. It would be absolutely absurd to have to come down to 155 when it's for all the MW belts especially considering GGG is mandatory to one of those belts.

If Canelo wins I hope he's stripped of his title.

No where does it say for titles. Canelo is a big PPV fight and he wants it so 155 or kick rocks.

Canelo refused to fight for Lara's title so it wouldn't surprise me if he refuses to fight for the MW titles since he has no plans to move up.

But 154 is an all-Al haymon division: Lara, Trout, Charlo x 2, J Rock, Harrison, Nelson (Dibella/PBC), Vanes, etc. so I don't know what Canelo's options are after Cotto. Unless he brings up Bradley/Rios winner, Brook, Pacquiao or somebody.

                      We shall see

He knows being handed another belt isn't a good look

The road to stardom starts at facing the winner of Canelo/Cotto...the Road to p4p supremacy ends at Andre Ward

Wouldn't it be nuts if we got to see GGG fight the winner of Canelo/Cotto and Ward and also get Ward vs Kov....I know....I know...wishful thinking
