Natas, this can't possibly make you this outraged. GGG and his team ran their mouths and tried to big boy Ward. Now Canelo is doing the same to him.

The sanctity of the MW belts will not be tarnished if they are defended at 155. ODH already had 3 belts and the lineal on the line with Bhop at 157.

Not the same at all. Canelo & Golovkin = middleweight division. Both would be middleweight title holders. Ward is in a different weight class. If Golvokin had the lineal 168 crown and demanded Ward fight him at 161 pounds, I would be outraged at GGG.

157 is not 155. That wasn't a cool move by Oscar either though. 155 is literally one pound over 154. AT LEAST meet half way - 157 or 158 makes a lot more sense here. But the main issue here is Golovkin is mandatory. Oscar & Bernard agreed to 157 on their own terms. What would be annoying here is that Golovkin would be mandatory to Canelo. CW's have no place in mandatory fights.

The road to stardom starts at facing the winner of Canelo/Cotto...the Road to p4p supremacy ends at Andre Ward

Wouldn't it be nuts if we got to see GGG fight the winner of Canelo/Cotto and Ward and also get Ward vs Kov....I know....I know...wishful thinking
In a perfect world where boxers cared more about their legacy then the paycheck all that would happen...who would Leonard,Duran,Hearns and Hagler be if they all didn't accept challenges and fight each other to see who the best was..

Nowadays we have guys fighting in made up weight classes for legit titles and politics between promoters and Managers that stop fights from happening on a regular basis..

Say what ya want about Arum and Don King back in the day but those fools made the fights that we all talk about as classics today...

The bottom line is does GGG want the name and stardom or does he want that WBC title around his waist?

If I'm him I take the catch weight and make Canelo drop the title because the fight is not at 160. He needs the fight for his resume and to build his brand. Turning down the biggest fight you may ever get to fight some stiff who's ranked #2 for a vacant title does nothing for him.

GGG and his team are being treated the same way they acted. The weights are such a minor part of it IMO. They are getting what they gave and its hard to feel sorry for them.

I agree cw's should never be in title fights. But its happened and will happen again. No surprise ODH is involved in both.

BS. They haven't demanded anyone from their own weight class to have a CW fight. He's never even fought above 160 so in no way shape or form is this even comparable.

I guess you're cool with guys with titles inventing their own weight classes. Boy has boxing changed.

Respectfully,Man, you come off whiny and biased with the "anyone in their own weight class" and "never fighting above 160" to try and differentiate between similar things.

The primary issue is use of leverage. GGG used his leverage to try and dictate terms to Ward rather than fight him at 168. Canelo is doing the same thing to GGG rather than fight him at 160. To call that "forming his own weight class" is over the top hyperbole.

The secondary (and separate) issue is the fact the MW lineal titles and belts would be on the line lower than 160. I do not like this anymore than you do.

Well they won't be if GGG says no to a catch weight. Canelo can't force him down but GGG would be ****** not to try and negotiate a 156-157 weight at least and fight for the titles against Canelo and not some bum who's ranked #2
