Porter is very limited on the outside and inside. Just because he bullied, roughed up two very small, weak guys on the inside doesn't mean he is this great inside fighter. I'd argue he was better at mid-range than in close. He is a mid-range hooker not this great inside fighter he is being made out to be.

His whole inside game consists of keeping his head dead center, holding and clubbing. People assume he will have his way with Brook inside, assuming he can even get inside because all he does is charge forward in straight lines. Brook isn't going to pull straight back or lay against the ropes, he will land that uppercut at will, push him back or put the left hook behind it and pivot out.

He has too many tools to fall into Porters game. If Brook is Brook he wins this fight, easily.

      Porter is bunk.
Nice cover - "if Brook is Brook." In other words, if Brook gets blown out, "he wasn't himself in there" and your brilliant prediction still stands.

Maybe "ragdoll" is a bit harsh; he's certainly bigger and stronger than Paulie and isn't going to get tossed around like that. I do question his chin though, and his ability to stay together if he ends up needing to take some of the shots either of those guys did. And I think he will.

Look, I'm not hyping Porter. I rooted for Paulie and I expect Porter is too crude to really continue this level of ascension, but Brook? Nah. Can't see that. But all credit to him if he manages. No "if Porter is Porter" bullshít from me.

Porter is going to dip low and come up with those wild ass hooks.

Brook has no defence or head movement though so it spells trouble.

I think I am more excited about this than I was for Martinez-Cotto.

Porter by Stoppage after a beat down on Kell.

Exactly. It's a matter of styles. Porter is crude and wild as hell, but Brook is upright and hardly moves his head. He's not suddenly going to become Pernell Whitaker and school this kid. He's going to get caught and get dragged into a war, and that just doesn't suit him.

He doesnt have to be Pernell Whitaker to beat Porter though. He's not special.

Porter hasn't really faced anyone who hits as hard and as accurate as Brook. His reaction to Brook's shots will be interesting.

Good god, do you guys not read the boards?

Lacedup, I've seen you on MULTIPLE boards where I said there is a BIG size difference, and that Porter is very small for a welter at 5'5.

But I guess most of you aren't interested in a an exchange of ideas, just impulsive anger and being over opinionated.

I don't see how Porter is going to win. Certainly not by dismantling and KOing Brook early as so many of you repeatedly suggest without a hint of any reasoning.

Porter is stocky and rehydrates to Super Middleweight. Let's see how they look at tomorrow's weigh in.

Brook is taller. Porter used to fight at Light-Middleweight in the pros and I believe even higher in the Am's.

He started out at 160 I believe? But Brook is bigger. Way bigger. I was surprised the difference was that huge. Look at the head to head. Brook looks mean and ready.
