Sergio, his manager and everyone else in his team can say that his knees are OK but reality is he had 2 knee surgeries and at his advanced age (40 yrs old) the prognosis is really bad in terms of being able to do high performance as it is supposed with a very mobile professional boxer. It was already shown against Murray (a fight he really lost beyond the home decision gift) and his very last fight. How many more fights does he need to be convinced that his skills are eroded? Some people would always be on denial because is very hard to accept the truth.

Sergio's knee is fine, he just got beat by an elite boxer (the first one he faced.) I'd still like to see him in there against GGG, I think Golovkin would murder him but I just want to see how GGG does against a top level fighter, even if he is old.Comment

It wouldn't do much, Sergio is 39 that has a lot to do with it. A 24 year old is going to take punches a lot better than a 40 year old. Still, I would take Cotto over Canelo simply based off of experience and talent. Canelo for having 40+ pro fights is INCREDIBLY green, he started boxing 10 years ago, if he hasn't improved in his last 4 fights he isn't going to get much better.Comment
