Make no mistake, he doesn't hesitate to cheat badly in the ring either.Comment

I wouldn't call it what Wladimir does in the ring cheating. If a ref allows certain maneuvers then a fighter is do them and I wouldnt consider his holding or grappling cheating. Cheating is: if a fighter loads his gloves with plaster or some other weight; if a fighter takes PEDS, etc.
Boxing is like many other sports where the participants 'bend the rules' and work the refs. In basketball, players often foul each other when the refs aren't looking or "flop" on the ground to draw a foul. In every sport the players are trying to get an edge - it's not cheating.Comment

I would also probably take Fury over Povetkin.Considering the fact that the second best in the division is Fury, can he beat himself? I guess he can.
Don't you know better than to judge a fighter based solely on their resume?
Fury is a perfect storm of a fighter for the division. He has the size, ring IQ, speed, ring generalship, power, and chin to dominate unchecked. The only thing he lacks is experience against elite opposition, and that will come in time by default.
Povetkin gets stopped late.Comment

Could you imagine Mike Tyson choosing someone elses gloves or where they lived or what they ate or when they could speak?
there's a big gap between a man's man and a diva.Comment

That's because boxing has the most feeble and ridiculous system of all sports designed specifically to generate the most money period and the total exclusion of the actual sport.I don't agree with boxers having that much control, champion or not, in a sport which is suppose to be regulated.
But we all know what the state of regulation is, so what do you expect.
Have you ever heard of a tennis player choosing an opponent's racket?
There are rules, and if the rules allow the glove, the 'a-side' fighter should have no say.
But boxing doesn't work that way.
This is a significant factor severely hurting boxing today eclipsed only by "nutbaggery"
But nutbaggery will die a natural death anyway...
"business boxing" will never give up without a much bigger fight.
Capitalism is a much tougher bug to squash than other forms oppression. Always has been.Comment

First of all, Tyson Fury is the second best HW on the planet, and yes, if Fury utilised his skills correctly, he would win most rounds.are you serious? what are you basing that on ?
beating cruiserweights and d level bum's ? (and being dropped by them)
and then saying he would win every round agaisnt the 2nd best heavyweight on earth.
someones been on the
even charr and perez have better win's than fury
on a serious note, i really hope he can make it competitive agaisnt klit, i just dont see how, it's too big a step up from fighting journeyman to fighting the greatest heavyweight of our era.
you would of thought his team would at least put him in with a b/c level guy or at least a step up from christian fkin hammer
Charr & Perez have not defeated an opponent on the same level as a Chisora or a Cunningham. Yes, Fury was dropping by the former world champion Cunningham, but as usual, you ignore the context. Fury was messing around in the ring, dropped his hands and got caught. If you think Fury is going to go into the Wladimir fight with the same mindset that he went in against Cunningham, you're an idiot.
Fury put on a masterclass, both against Chisora, and Hammer. Just because Fury completely neutralised Chisora with his tactics does not suddenly make Chisora a bum.
Fury does things in the ring that I've never seen before from a man his size. The guy has serious skills and if you can't see it, you know nothing about boxing.Comment

Wladimir's fiancée has just checked into rehab for depression. I expect the fight will be cancelled again!

Imo Carlos Takam would leave Fury a tangled spider unconscious in a pool of blood. He would not even be able to remember his name!
I like Tyson Fury but he can't be considered the 2nd best HW yet.
Perhaps as high as 5th or 6th maybe.
All we can say with certainty is that he is much better than Wilder who despite being champ, is questionable whether he could really be in the top 10 considering his only 2 top victories (Scott and Stiverne) were both devalued or flat out shonky respetively.
Putting on a class act vs Chisora and grinding out Cunningham don't exactly qualify for the upper eschelons of excellence.Comment

You seem to have changed your tune Elroy, earlier on in this thread you claimed that Fury would be Wladimir's toughest opponent.Imo Carlos Takam would leave Fury a tangled spider unconscious in a pool of blood. He would not even be able to remember his name!

Saying that, you also believe Alex Leapai would leave Joe Frazier a bloody mess on the floor as well.
