Zuniga had the best intro by far lmao The XX - Intro track is simply amazing, it actually gave me goosebumps. Perhaps it's because it was used as the background to Marquez training on the Tim Bradley vs JMM 24/7 training sequence that makes it so epic for me.

Interesting. First round was quite close but I noticed Viloria started off slower than usual. Zuniga has a decent enough jab to keep Viloria at bay and worked the body quite well. Close round that could have gone either way with Viloria being able to slip in some potent counters.

2nd round was damn near all Zuniga except for the mild flurry Viloria shot off during the last minute. However, Zuniga was able to respond quite well by attacking the body. 3rd round is a slight shift in Viloria. He seems to begin pressing the action a tad bit more and less reliant in his countering to set up his offence. However, Zuniga has surprising movement for a "journeyman" and is able to dart in, land and evade. Viloria looks decent but far from what he has shown before. When he does land a counter left he seems to stun Zuniga back, his right hand also looks impressive but it's far in between. Zuniga won the exchanges on the inside during the last minute. Zuniga is doing great lol.

In round 4 Zuniga switched to Southpaw and although he didn't look as impressive as he did in his orthodox stance, he clearly won the first minute of the 4th. WTF is wrong with Viloria?? So inactive and worn down… I know he slows during the mid rounds but we have yet to reach them . Wait...Viloria completely takes over after those consecutive right hands. He dominates the remainder of the round.

the 5th round was close and they were fighting in the booth. Nice exchanges where both men land some good shots but Viloria has clearly more power. GOD damn that left hand was the perfect body shot. It's over… Viloria had a very close fight against Zuniga.

Zuniga looked stupendous but needs to stick to his orthodox stance. Viloria needs to up his output and activity like he did before. He seemed too sluggish at times and wasn't as crisp as he used to be. Zuniga gave him too much trouble for comfort, however he did land a marvellous knock out body punch.

Although Viloria didn't look too good, I think he was beginning to take over with those hard rights and powerful left hands. Zuniga was outclassed in terms of power but not skill. Good fight.

Glad I checked back on this thread. I wouldve missed your post. So it sounds to me like we're both on the same page about both fighters. I didnt see Zuniga's intro cause Unimas went to commercials and came back when they were both in the ring.

Anyway, yea, Viloria did not look good to me. He started slow but you can't do that vs Estrada or any of the top guys for that matter. Estrada is no Zuniga. Even tho Zuniga did not look bad. Idk if Viloria looked bad cause of Zuniga or he's just getting to that point in his career.

It could have both elements that contributed to Viloria's lacklustre performance(aside from that sick KO). Viloria is into his early 30's, as a boxer that's generally the age a boxer begins to decline. Now, add the fact that his career is at the weights in the sport where activity, competition and work output tends to shatter those of the higher weights. Thus, I believe the body takes a harder toll down there than say a weight above 135. Sure heavyweights are prone to getting KTFO with a single punch and that's why people loved that weight class but they can play it safe the entire fight and wait for that opportunity, down here… whole different story. Down here they need to hunt that KO down or throw hundreds of punches before getting anywhere, thus the boxer asks a lot from their small frame.

Zuniga is a good fighter, no mere journeyman would have been able to pull off some of the combinations he was throwing. In fact, Viloria seemed frustrated at times by Zuniga's movement and combos. So yeah, I personally believe Brian's performance is due to both contributing elements.

I agree with your statement about Estrada or any other title holder being too much for that form of Brian. He is a great and entertaining fighter but it seems like he might be reaching the twilight of his career.. sad. Hope he can prove us otherwise in his next fight, would like to see him get an impressive win and then one more crack at a belt.

Sad because I really wanted Periban to beat Bika for the vacant strap. I'm not the type to shy away from any fighter after a loss but the way he *****ed and moaned over the decision turned me off. He looked good early against Love but ended up losing control and caused him the fight.

I agree hes leaps and bounds ahead of Periban but like i I said, Periban is tough. It would be a good test for him. Dont hold the Love fight against Periban tho. That fight should had been stopped. Periban punched himself out and didnt get the well deserved stoppage.
