Well of course not yet but they have to keep building them and as long as they win the world will know. That is how it always worked.

Maybe I got a little overboard with the Thread title, I didn't really mean exactly 'Dead' what I meant was would it take a huge step back and hide in shadows for some while when these 2 would retire? and the growing popularity of other Combat sports really fears me to think so.

so your saying there going to take over when there number 1 draw is a chick ... miranda rousey gets around 325-340k ppv buys ..Cotto-Martinez outsold her ..Alvarez-Angulo outsold her ...froch-groves nearly tripled her sells ... Pacquiao and Gayweather had nothing to do with the outcomes of there PPVs... When is the last time those 2 were on a regular HBO cards ? they still average 1million+ viewers

Well then that's easy to answer. Of course when any sport losing it's main guys, they will take a short-term step back until the sport finds another star. Boxing will do the same, as it's always done.

Also, MMA will continue to grow and grow in the mainstream, and boxing will remain about the same - a very niched sport.

MMGay isn't taking over anything, dunce. There's never been any sort of crossover between it and boxing, and it's one and only real successful promotion is in a current and well documented slump.

Their 2 biggest stars are injured right now (GSP and Anderson Silva). Rousey is about 4th after Jon jones (currently active).

Also UFC do fights pretty much bi-weekly I believe. Boxing only has a few big events per year. If you look at all the boxing PPV sales per year added together and do the same for the UFC, the UFC's number would dwarf boxing's number like Sharapova dwarfed Mayweather.

Yes, I'm 8 years old - and in spite of that fact, my standards are still considerably too high to actually enjoy the lowbrow 'sport' that you obviously love so much.

By the way, why was the UFC's biggest star on the undercard of their last ppv show? Do they not have enough confidence in her ability to headline a show by herself?
