what do you mean by God gifted? Do you mean natural talent and superior physical gifts, then yes RJ has a great shout, he was supremely fast, cat like reflexes and had some impressive power too. If that's the criteria then you can't mention Rigo in the same breath, his physical gifts are as pronounced as a prime RJ or young Leonard or prime Whitaker or a 20 something Tyson.
But by mentioning Rigo, you must also be thinking of the technical aspect of boxing, the footwork, the punching technique, the weight distribution, the ability to parry and block punches...then Leonard would and should once again be mentioned, Hopkins even, Duran most definitely, Lewis, Whitaker, Floyd, Manny and a few others.
The one fighter who combines all that and fought in the last 30 years, impeccable technique, enlightening God given gifts...it's the great Sugar Ray, without a shadow of a doubt. No RJJ, no Hopkins, no Manny, no Floyd, no Lewis, none of them compare to him in his prime.
