Comments Thread For: Espinoza Explains Showtime's Position on PPV Numbers

This guy Espinoza must have fell and bumped his head. Instead of talking to the fans, maybe he needs to pull Floyd aside and tell it to him that his obsession with PPVs is dwarfing his achievements. While you are at it, maybe you should remove those PPV escalators from Floyd's contract as well. Every time his guy opens his mouth, it is always about him not getting credit for something or him doing the most PPVs and nobody else is doing any numbers. It almost makes one forget that Oscar was once the PPV king 'cos beyond what is already in the contract, you hardly hear Oscar talk about numbers until you see fighters lining up to try to get a payday and then you realize this guy is indeed PPV king. Espinoza, just come out and say the ppv numbers for the last fight wasn't what we expected and we are hoping for better numbers this time. I get tired of all this boxing farts, Arum, Espinoza, Ellerbe, RIP Schaeffer etc always trying to pull a wool over the fans eyes.

It's normal course of business for a TV network to only publicize good news and to not call attention to or put a spin on bad news. The real measure of success for Showtime will be if Espinoza still has his job when the Floyd deal is done. His boss Les Moonves is a SHREWD dude and will show his colluding ass the door if it wasn't profitable. He'll do it swiftly even before you can say the word DUCK.

Showtime are rubbing the fans up the wrong way. They give us a great 2013 and now all they have done is give us showcase fights. Hbo has already won the battle this year. I dont know what they are playing at or if the schaefer thing has effect anything but its not good.

Mayweather is the one who made fans follow and keep up with PPV Numbers because he did brag about them.
I personally don't give a **** because how the numbers do don't put money in my pocket.
That being said, WTF is wrong with 850k-900k in PPV buys? Seems like a pretty good number to me for a PPV Event
He should tell Mayweather to shut up about PPV Numbers if he wants fans to "NOT FOCUS ON PPV BUYS"
