Comments Thread For: Lou DiBella: Caparello isn't Afraid of Sergey Kovalev

As has been the case for each of Sergey Kovalev's past four opponents, Blake Caparello will be a sizable underdog when he meets the light heavyweight beltholder on Aug. 2 on HBO.

However, unlike other foes, promoter Lou DiBella's believes his charge isn't scared of the big, bad 175-pound boogeyman.

Agnew said the exact same thing, and look at what happened to him.

I'm watching Caparello's fight against Green, and he has a habit of dropping his hands. And even when he has his hands up, his guard isn't very tight.

I predict an early stoppage win for Kovalev.

Lou doesn't give a crap who his guys fight as long it's a easy paycheck for himself.

That's what lou has become in this sport. A guy who slithers around the both, barrel of the boxing world, signs the guys no one wants, and than he tries to get them a few fights to build them back up, and than tries to get them in line to fight top ranks studs.

Lou never actually promotes or builds any of his guys anymore, it's pathetic.

You don't have to be afraid to get your ass kicked...which is exactly what is going to happen.

Kovalev is getting so absurdly overrated on here that I'm actually hoping he looses....He reminds me or Lucas 2.0.

Putting my feelings for Kovalev aside, I actually think Caparello has a good chance of upsetting him....Caparello is a tall rangy southpaw who can box and has a big reach....This IS a dangerous fight for Kovalev.....We don't know how Kovalev deals with bigger guys (Caparello is bigger) and we still don't know how effective Kovalev is vs Southpaws....I would imagine he's less effective than against Orthodox fighters....Which is true of nearly every offensive fighter in boxing...

Agnew and Campillo are both southpaws and much better boxers than Craparello
