Lara is fantastic in some areas but limited in others. In comparison to Rigo and Gamboa, he's the least physically gifted (relatively speaking). Also, on the inside/mid range, he has difficulty transitioning from offense to defense quickly and efficiently.

Agreed. But in the final analysis, you can simply say he's limited. Everyone rightfully comments on Lara's inability to fight on the inside, and his reliance on the ol' 1-2. Gamboa and Rigo might have their foibles, but they're considerably less predictable than Lara. I always considered Lara #3 to Guille's 1 and Gamboa's 2.

You know when I started to like Landy? With the Angulo fight. Lara showed some serious balls in that fight, rising from the canvass twice and making Perro quit. I really hoped we would see some of that guy versus Canelo. We might've had a win then.

lol I don't want to make it sound like Lara's a scrub. He's not. As you and some others have said, Lara may be limited, but what he does he does well. I think Canelo is a solid fighter. He's got some skills, good power and good toughness. Like everyone, Alvarez has weaknesses, like his slow footwork (if it can even be called that). Ali was arguably the greatest HW of all time, yet he lost one fight and had two more wars with a relatively limited fighter in Joe Frazier. Like they say, styles make fights.

Rigo seems to be a combination of both Gamboa and Lara (plus other things of course lol). He can be disciplined on the outside like Lara, but he also has comparable speed, power, and athleticism to Gamboa.

He's a great counter puncher, a master at controlling distance and most importantly has a very smart boxing mind.

But what's underrated about Rigo is he has a NASTY streak in him. When he gets hit he comes back to get you like a crazed maniac. Donaire caught him with numerous shots and you can tell Rigo doesn't like getting hit because immediately after Donaire got his head snapped back by a left hand.

Canelo did, he has a legit* W over Lara on his record and is now clearly considered the best fighter at 154**

* I say legit because it was a close fight unlike say Bradley-Pacquiao
