I'm a big fan of the sweet science, and Lara did box beautifully. I thought his strategy was very good for the first half of the fight. He made Canelo miss often, and Canelo was frustrated and a little tired. However, at least by round 8, Lara should've switched gears and became the aggressor. I fault Ronnie Sheilds for not tell Lara to "turn up." If he did, Lara didn't listen. No way was he getting a decision against Canelo with that strategy, especially without at least one 10-8 round. Lara will not get a rematch, nor will he see Floyd Mayweather in 2015. He might want to look for a fight with Andrade or Molina, just to be relevant.

Canelo stock didn't go down or stinks. It was Lara stock that went down and stinks of crap. Cotto fight just grew even more now. A lot of butthurt Lara fans in this topic. Lara had his chance to win didn't want to let his hands his go. Get over it

De La Hoya was the biggest hypejob boxing has ever seen.

But it seems his protege is going to exceed it.

Canelo's stock didn't go down.....he just beat the most feared fighter in the weight class lol

Canelo should fight Kirkland next though, he needs an action packed fight after this one.

Exactly even Mayweather understands this and took the fight to Canelo.

What lara did was pathetic for a championship fight.

Team Lara knows their guy will never be in this position again.
Lara had his shot, his mouth got him the fight, he didn't show up and give the fans what they wanted.
Quit crying and get in the back of the line track star!!!!

At the end of the day, that one scorecard was bogus, but the fight guy won.

And at the end of it all, Canelo won another close fight that I have no problem with him winning, and Lara was my guy.

Canelo doesn't dominate good fighters, Trout and Lara, but he beats them and that's all that matters. Perhaps Canelo is better than people think.

No re-match (do-over) necessary. Canelo won and thats that. Lara needs to regroup and prove his worth before he or his Manager can make demands.

A Cotto match aint that sellable now; Lara was a dude that got dropped twice vs Angulo and got better work from Vanes and Molina; this was a lose lose fight, Canelo has to address this rematch ASAP
Lara got his shot and squandered it, by choosing to fight the way he did and expecting to get a decicion by running and notbeing active.

He got his shot in his Prime when no one wanted to fight him Canelo gave it to him, Canelo doesn't owe him ****!!!!!!!!!

Canelo needs to move on pursue other fights and look toward the bigger fight in Cotto!!!! No one wants to see Lara run for 12 rounds again.

Cotto is the fight tha will get evryone excited!!!!!

The funny thing is team Lara should be kissing Oscars feet that they even got this fight. Look at where Lara was before. He was scheduled to fight the Friday before Mayweathers last fight. Think about that. He is a Haymon guy but not good enough to even get a slot on Floyds undercard? And he just got a spot on the main event of a PPV at the MGM. They should accept defeat graciously and move on because that's what Canelo and his team will do.
