I thought Lara nicked it 115-114 scoring the last round even. Paulie M was right, some rounds he boxed effectively, other rounds he ran, and the rounds he did the latter you score for Canelo but he was effective enough as a boxer to win a good number of rounds. The total punches landed reflected that and at no point was Lara hurt, shaken or rocked back by a Canelo punch so the argument that Canelo landed the harder shots in this fight is purely conjecture. A 117-111 card for either fighter borders on criminal.

115-113 Canelo. Lara has no one to blame but himself. Dominated the early rounds and then didnt do **** in the middle rounds. Canelo worked the body nicely. Those left hooks to the body were a thing of beauty. Lara gave away rounds by not throwing punches. He blew it big time.

I gave Lara the first and last three, so Canelo winning by any significant margin is comical to me.

Huge fan of the hit and not get hit philosophy, I teach that to my son because I mean let's face it, who want there kid to get busted up like ward and gatti. In saying that, Lara could have at least tired to counter more instead of running around the ring like that. I gave the fight to Canelo 7-5 but I could see how it could be wider. Jabs count less than power punches, it's not the amateurs.

Lara should have thrown more punches yes he should have but give the winner his fair due an award him the fight. Just like with rigondeaux, he was awarded the win over donaire barely but was kicked off the network for his style.

Lara was clearly shaken in the mid rounds from the body shots to the point were he dropped his hands and began to retreat towards the ropes. He's lucky Canelo doesn't have the best stamina or long reach because he probably would have knocked Lara out tonight when I saw Lara drop his hand I thought Canelo had a chance to clip him then Lara caught a 2nd wind
