booo hoooo 15 lbs? You are crying for 15 lbs? ahhahahahahahahaha "the gloves debate should be a moot point because any gloves they use will be 8 oz no matter what". You are somewhat right and somewhat wrong. Difference between a punchers glove is the style of padding it has. Gloves are made to protect fighters hands from injury, Floyd, but if your a fighter with strong hands and your hands doesnt get hurt, maidana, you use the punchers gloves thats padded with horse hair, which, is legal and even if they brought legal gloves, floyd would still biitch and moan and say no fight.

i can agree, but history also tells us that maidana can be outboxed on any given day.....khan did it for most of the fight, devon shut him out completely, kotelnik outboxed him so if he cant really get inside on you he struggles..Well I can't speak for everyone else, but I am a fan of both fighters and I actually said Maidana was going to give him hell before the fight, we can dig up my posts to prove it, but I disagree about just spinning out, it's not always easy to do so depending on what your opponent is doing and most of the lateral steps or pivots available were still within range of Maidana. Maidana is swift enough to cover that distance and pivot while punching, so in reality Maidana put Floyd in a position were lateral movement could be even more dangerous because it requires Floyd to trade balance and invulnerability for repositioning and a new angle, which normally would work, but Maidana isn't readable like that, it's too risky.
If you watch closely, when Maidana counters him and hurts him Floyd gets confused, stops in his tracks, or ties up.
Fighters all the time say things like "I am going to fight his fight" yadayadayada, I have seen enough fights and done my fair share of ringwork to know when someone is playing with fire when they don't have to, and when someone it being pushed, and I wohleheartedly believe Floyd was in deep waters because Maidana took him there and made him fight out of it.
If Floyd outboxes and outhustles Maidana then all credit to him, but Floyd picked his shots and wouldn't go blow for blow, so when Maidana turns it on, if Floyd doesn't hit his counter shot and roll out quickly he is forced to shell up and slip or block the assault, what makes the second fight so interesting is that Maidana should throw even more punches, be more confident, and use his jab much more.
People keep saying Floyd is going to adjust, and he will, but what makes people think he is going to be that effective doing it? He couldn't really neutralize Maidanas assault in the second half of the first fight, history says Floyd always figures out his opponent, but the first fight tells me that's unlikely to happen, and the fact that Maidana is so unorthodox means that he still has that edge, that unpredictability, the explosiveness is so devastating that Floyd cannot afford many mistakes.
I mean, Maidana left unimpressed by Floyd, and Maidana isn't one to say stuff like that for cameras, ,he is a humble honest guy, he isn't trying to sell a rematch, he is being real, that to me is very meaningful, it's huge. If you don't think your opponent can hurt you and you think you are an equal or better figher, that type of a mindset and mental advantage cannot be overlooked going into a fight.
now if floyd moves a little more on him this fight it wont be anything maidana hasn't seen, but it will interupt any momentum he may have in any round that he might be doing ok in...floyd's movement will cause him to reset and give floyd opportunities to pot shot maidana with right hands that will steal rounds because they are clean shots. maidana needs to work on his jab though cuz that disrupts floyd's speed also.
if maidana cant adjust to floyds movement in the second fight he will lose a ud, if he can i can see another close decision. but at the end the day you have to beat the champ to be the champ, thats the logic people have used for decades and is the correct logic.Comment

If Floyd still has his legs I think we will see it for this match. No way do I see Floyd playing the ropes again and just let Maidana unleash on him. If he does play the ropes again against Maidana then its fair to say his legs are officially gone.Comment

Yea but history with Maidana has to be taken with a grain of salt considering how vastly he's improved since the Devon fight.i can agree, but history also tells us that maidana can be outboxed on any given day.....khan did it for most of the fight, devon shut him out completely, kotelnik outboxed him so if he cant really get inside on you he struggles..

I can't believe TBE went life and death and now rematching a guy Amir Khan dropped and beat comfortably, as well as out boxed quite handily by Devon Alexander of all people.Comment

Comon my dude, he has a solid jab now, much better defense, and better footwork, he definitely has improved.
