If Manny doesn't stop him and doesn't retire afterwards immediately, he will instantly become the next RJJ in that he will take losses to fighters he never should have, and be remembered in ways he never should have, but in a way I hope that happens, it would be karma for all the manny fans trying to say Mannys win over Oscar is legit and means something.

You do know WW is technically a boxer weighing above 140 but no higher than 147 right? Manny weighed in at 145 I believe and Rios weighed in at 147.

You have to be joking. For example Lucas vs Peterson was a CW of 141 so Lamont's JWW belt wasn't at stake when Lucas iced him

        Pac-Marquez 3 was at 143, I think. Or 144, one of them.

Catchweight... LOL. Not enough that they chose Agieri they even want him to make catchweight.

                    weight is irrelevant

Algieri is an expert at weight cutting. He helps advise mma fighters on weight cutting. He helped UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman a couple times cut weight for his fights. Algieri walks around year round at 160 lbs. He is always at 155 or higher by fight time so weight isn't an issue for Algieri. Must be Pacquiao camp who wants catch weight

My reaction to this fight was like that of most people, "how can Manny be taking on Algieri" and it's still his worst fight since Mosley BUTTTTT I understand why it's happening. He has cleared out TRs welter stable with wins and dominant wins at that, over the likes of Bradley, Cotto, Clottey and a less than dominant win over JMM.

Of course JMM V makes more sense but JMM has just priced himself out...yet again. So where was he to go? This isn't a good fight by any means but neither is it a travesty on the levels of Garcia/Salka or Mayweather/Ortiz or Pacquiao/Mosley or Hops/RJJ 2. Algieri is young, gifted and tall, he will dwarf Manny in that ring and has enough boxing ability to cause problems for just about anybody.

It's a necessary fight, just not one that we fans wanted.
